Tim Rudmans name kept coming up and his books go for astronomical amounts. Managed to find "Lith Printing Course for" for £33, " Master Printing Course" for £12 (signed hardback) and a ltd edition, signed and numbered "The World of Lith Printing" in a slip case for £75. Beautiful books and very happy.

For the 3" or 4" prints that were common back in the day, nearly any of the really simple cameras (meniscus lens, fixed aperture and shutter) were perfectly adequate. Midday, clear, sun over your shoulder, on ISO 100, subject at 6-10 feet, hold steady, and you'd get good results almost every time. Limitations like that are part of what makes photography.

I've got an Ansco Shur-Shot Jr. that does fine for contact prints or up to 4" enlargements, and my Brownie Hawkeye Flash cameras (got two) do as well.

Tokina 500mm f/8 mirror lens. Playing with it a little bit, I find that it will focus beyond infinity, so one can't just crank it all the way over for distant objects, but will have to take care to bring it back just a touch.

Beefing up my collection of accessories for my 4x5 LF setup in anticipation of a week-long trip next month, I have ordered (but not yet received):

• blackjacket focusing/dark cloth (my current cloth, while nice is a bit unwieldy, especially if its a bit windy)
  
• domke lens wraps to cover some of the lenses I'll take
• spike feet for my Bogen 3221
• a self supporting changing bag--my current bag is just a bag and is hard to work in because it always falls on your hands and get in your way. most of the self supporting bags are expensive, but this was $50. We'll see if it works better.
• a couple technika-type copal 1 lens boards

I also bought some expired instax wide from B&H. I don't have the lomo instax wide back for LF cameras--its been delayed a few months, but half price monochrome film to experement with was too tempting. (As Oscar Wilde said, I can resist anything but temptation.)
