Overwhelming Bargain
Went to buy just an enlarger to get my darkroom on the road to working, and ending up getting a whole darkroom
Sorry for the potato/old phone image quality, but I was too excited to set it up to take a good pic of it all together.
I drove about an hour for this classifieds ad: Omega B-22 enlarger with filters. That's essentially all it said. I emailed the guy and he asked if we could chat on the phone, which I initially thought was odd since I just emailed him
maybe to make sure I wasn't a scambot. We chatted a bit about what I was going to shoot, how I got into film, etc. and told me it would come with a timer as well. I asked about the condensers and wanted to make sure it was in working order, because the asking price was so low (about USD $200 less than what other similar enlargers were going for locally) Upon arriving he said "I've also included a few other things you might need
"
He proceeded to load me up with dev, fix, easels, safelight, touch-up/spotting kit, thermometers, a recently CLA'd Pentax Spotmatic (I've been without a mechanical 35mm for too long) with SMC 55mm 1.8 Takumar, a Porroflex finder for my C33, and a pistol grip. All of that on top of a very, VERY lightly used Omega Enlarger, in the box, with all the condensers and carriers for 35mm and 6x6, plus a supplementary condenser, spare bulbs, Ilford and some Serbian brand of VC filters. I was quite overwhelmed with how much he gave me, but just replied with "my wife will thank you."
All in all, a superb purchase. Now I've just got to get my Mamiya lens CLA'd :/
Maurice, if you're on here, THANK YOU, again!
