What did you fix today?

Actually a few days ago.
I had the bright idea of using a black film or paper bag to replace or supplement the damaged leather bag on my RB Graflex bag mag.
I haven't tested it with film yet but I thik it might work.

I have three bag mags for my 3x4 Graflex. One of them is in pieces as I contemplate how to fabricate another bag. The other two are in good and great shape. The "good" one is not going to be good much longer, so I haven't been using it. I will hopefully get the other one put back together and after testing it I will let people know how well the fix worked. I want to make a paper pattern so that I can replicate my success, if it is a success. :confused:

I fixed the light leak in my Topcon RE Super focal plane shutter with some liquid electrical tape. Two coats and it seems to be holding. I put some Tri-X in the camera for testing. Should know later this week how everything works out.

I cleaned the rust out of a Zeiss Erabox camera, returned it to working order. I cleaned the leather and repainted the metalwork.

I did a CLA on a Brownie Reflex Synchro. The poor thing was filled with nicotine gunk and the lens was dirty. I finally figured out how to take the lens off so I could clean the inside of it. Plus I cleaned and put graphite on all the moving metal parts. Now it works so smoooooooth....

Olympus Zuiko 24mm f2.8. Simple repair, just had to remove the back assembly and reassemble it correctly.
Nice lens!
Also a Olumpus Zuiko 50mm f1.4.. looked bad. Bent the filter ring back into shape. Dissasembled it and cleaned. Reassembled it correctly. Now it looks great!. Glass is all clear exept for one tiny spot I didnt want to go after.

Overhauled an original Olympus M-1. Besides from the fact that it had dried coca cola inside, the camera needed new pentaprism, meter coil AND new cds cells. What a job. Dried coke in the counter dial, inside the takeup spool (jammed solid), inside the rewind shaft bushing, between the eyepiece lens and the prism. If it were a plain OM-1 I woulda made it "beyond economical repair". John, www.zuiko.com

I don't know if this counts as 'fixing', but I made two new Deardorff lens boards out of cherry, and then cut the center holes for a couple of lenses I will mount shortly. The boards fit the camera like butter. I built a jig for my table saw and drill press so cutting the boards to exact dimensions is a snap.

Yay! I finally found some springs that work and fixed the Bella today!

I've still gotta figure out the flash, but I'm a little gun-shy after the problems I had with it to start digging in the shutter again.... :confused:

I had a look at my Yashica 124 which, from time to time, refuses to fire. After removing the lens back element, I cleaned the blades with alcohol, and this seems to have done the job...
It never sounded as good as it does now.

Tough break. Keep trying though, I bet it will work out ok.

Well, I could not fix the tension spring on it, and could not find another one that would work. But putting another spring in there I can get the Bulb setting to work. So I started to think about it. There is a movable aperature for "dull" and "bright", like on the Holga (but this one works). So I made a pinhole and put it on the aperature for "bright" and left the lens in. Now I can take pinhole shots with it, or without the pinhole long exposure lens shots! Thankfully, a roll of 35mm fits inside with no problems, so it can be used as a panoramic camera.

in 5 minutes of playing around with the shutter tension? inside lens mount had it working just fine
speeds sound about right
1/20th gives correct exposure on film the others are progressive

Consider that a fix

Now I'll use this camera instead of the 4K

make 3 focusing screens for 5x7 they look ok perhaps a bit brighter that the original also removed all the old paint on the back no more horrid purple stain got to wait for the temp to go up before i put the varnish on

Yesterday I put a new water-pump in our Bauknecht washing-machine. It stroke me that the pump was almost the same as the circulation pump of the water-jacket in my Colenta developing machine.
All-tough it looked as it was made by the same manufacturer, same code numbers on certain parts...
It's a small world.

Fixed the light meter switch on a SP1000 and while I had it apart I added a self timer I pulled from a terminal Spotmatic.

Replaced the light seals on my RB Pro S 120 back. Got a great deal on ebay on the kit with 90mm 3.8. Only problem was the light seals. Now, back in business!
