Linhof Super Technika V ?

A Linhof would be a great camera to own, but I can't afford one. I'd be happy with a lens and a matched rangefinder cam for the Graflex Super Speed Graphic that I already own, but these have not been easy to find.
 
I really want a Chamonix 58W but can't afford one, nor the holders for it. I tend to like wider formats and It seems a very good compromise vs. 4x5 or 5x7 or 8x10. I like the idea of having to make only one cut from 8x10 film. I have a Zone VI Type 2 enlarger that can handle the wider format so that's not an issue. Most of the lenses I have will cover the format nicely. However, no... it would be silly of me.
 
I'm starting to want a Fuji GW690III. Not sure what put that in my head.

I'm also starting to feel the Leica gravitational pull tugging at my wallet. But as long as I remain convinced the price isn't justified, I'm safe from being sucked in.

Aw, the false security of an unprovable theory. Sooner or later this will sneak up on you and you will cave in and buy the Leica. You are just doomed, so go ahead and by the Leica. And while you are at it, go ahead a pick up that Hasselblad, Linhof, ... you are also thinking about.

Take the advice of someone who has all those: buy a Canon QL17GIII and don't look back.
 
Hasselblad SWC.

Reasoning is partially to do with my love of walkabout cameras, the sort of thing you can wonder about with for hours either at events or in a town/city. Hardly done any of that this year and really miss it, may be an expensive Chrimbo present to myself.

Did it. Bought a SWC/M for myself, wanted to try one for years and haven't been disappointed, well except for a couple of things, the spirit bubble is only any good for levelling horizontal and vertical simultaneously (its actually very misleading used any other way such as lining up the bubble on the outside of the circle). The viewfinder is not great for judging how straight you are holding the camera due to the huge viewfinder distortion, I am finding it can work OKish if one can align the top or bottom with a structure in the image. Having said that it is perhaps unsurprisingly at its best when you have the camera dead level rather than intentionally using perspective distortion. Have to say though I am getting a level of affection for this camera I haven't had since I fell for the Leica M6 classic, if it works for you its a highly addictive camera despite its quirks. Ran 10 rolls through her over 2 and half days the other week in London. Highly recommended just a shame they are so much money.

And a Mamiya Quadra 72 back...

I've even wondered about seeing how easily a Quadra could be altered to take a grafmatic, or in the other direction, making a custom 4x5 darkslide to act as a suitable mask... I just like the shape of the format with the cut corners & the big handling margin 4x5 sheets would give...

Alternatively I quite like the idea of a 6x7 masked to something not far off Alpa's 44x66 format, or possibly a Mamiya RB 6x8 back masked to 48x72mm...
 
I've wanted a Fuji GX617 forever ,I recently found a minty G617 with the fixed 105mm. I am in love . Nothing left for me. Unless an loony billionaire comes out with a new Kodak 3A with 122 film and Azo postcard paper.
 
For years, I used a Mamiya RB67 for my studio portraiture work. They always worked, a lot of options with lenses, screens, finders, etc. Though heavy, I've used them hand held when my Mamiya 645 bellied up at a wedding. It and my C330f saved the day. About 10 years ago, I parted ways with it, along with most of my film equipment.

In the past couple of years, I've started shooting film again, and I've accumulated a number of different cameras, including a Cambo 4x5, Super Graphic, Mamiya C330s, and a Mamiya 645 Pro TL. Only missing was a 6x7. I wanted a RB67 Pro SD. A local dealer had one, and I almost pulled the trigger, until he showed me a mint RZ67 Pro that had a WL finder and a 90mm f3.5 lens. The attraction of the electronic shutter, and single cocking/film advance lever was just too enticing. Now I'm a RZ67 owner, and I found an AE finder last night on eBay. Can't wait to get it into the rotation.

The same dealer also had a mint condition 6x7 "23" Graphic back for my Super Graphic, and 3 BNIB Riteway 4x5 holders.
 
I don't see myself buying new cameras or lenses soon as I have pretty much everything I want. But there's just something about an Xpan that's hard to resist, especially with a wide lens. I don't know if I have the skills to make a format that wide work but it would be great fun experimenting with it.
