"WOW" had about 1/8" inch of rain this morning, its all dried up now but wow it was wet. Have to get my snows shoes out!!!

When I lived there (my first 26 years), any rain between March and the following January was totally unacceptable.

Good Afternoon,

Sunny and about 15 to 20 degrees above normal here in the metro St. Louis/southwestern Illinois area. The wind is a bit gusty, but who can complain; too bad these upper 80-degree temperatures will be gone later in the week.

About 3 inches of rain so far today -- the rain stopped for a little while so I could go out and check my gauge. Powers Creek that runs thru town is finally flowing again after the 4 inches we have had the last several days (not counting today's rain). Tap water dropped about 10F degrees in the last week...had to add warm water developing my film yesterday.

Really random today. Dry, partly sunny for most of the day, then, in the afternoon, started clouding up and got cold. Just before nightfall, the clouds opened up. Major dumping of rain. No thunder or lightning, though. Went outside around 9 pm. Partly cloudy. No rain. Supposed to be another La Niña winter, so it will be as if Mother Nature is using a pressure washer pointed at the Pacific Northwet again (yes, misspelling is intentional).

A couple of hours north of John:

We who are at sea level and relatively near the river and the Straight have had a lot of steady rain since yesterday. The relatively small amount of snow we had a few days ago is all washed away. It currently is about 2C.

However, this morning drove down to South Surrey. At sea level it was raining. But up near 16th it was snowing. We made our purchases at the Turkey Store and got out of there!

Four inches of fresh fluffy snow up here in Spokane -- looks a lot like Christmas!

Sunny and bright. Great clouds after the hard rain last night.

Cold and misty today-enjoyed some nice post walk pints.

A nor'easter coming through today and into tomorrow, with 12 inches/ 30cm of white stuff predicted.
Working at home has certain advantages.

At home, at sea level, it was cold, wet and rainy, with no evidence of snow.,
At lunch with relatives in the higher levels of Coquitlam, it was cold and wet as the rain fell on almost a foot of snow!

It is good to know that you folks are finally receiving some rain. I thought for a while that Southern California was going to be forced to import some of those folks from Northern Arizona to come over and dance around a bit with rattlesnakes in their mouths but the Pacific Ocean did its thing.......Regards!

The Pacific Ocean is doing its thing right now over Los Angles, rain for two days maybe. We are starting the year with a chance of normal to more than normal rain hopefully, for the year.

its been cold, but not this cold yet

and at the moment bracing for 10-12" of snow, wind and cold
