That's like saying 99.73% of Catholic bishops believe the Pope is holy.

Plenty of scientists disagree as well, but they are shouted down. Many people don't realize Canada was covered by a thick ice sheet which melted from significant warming only 8000 years ago (*) - long before any human industry.

The topic has become too politically polarized for general debate. I won't post further on it because this is not the appropriate place.

Aside from that, I do wonder how accurate thermometers and measurements were in 1604 compared to instruments being used today.

was a bit cold and rainy last week
don't know if it helped with the draught
we have been suffering through
( even with IDK 4 or 5 feet of snow ( = 4 or 5 inches of rain )
didn't do much ...
they say it will be unseasonably warm until the end of december again this year
( might be the new weather trend )
and we will get another 4-5 feet of snow like last year.
looking forward to it, id rather have snow, and shovel it
than hot humid summers...

And for good measure, there are more tiny but very dense storm cells moving across today, this one's hitting Kapunda and the eastern edge of the ranges but missing the city so far today.

That seems typical; maybe a bit chilly even. I lived there for decades. One January, when we had an above normal 85F, the evening news was showing extremely cold weather in the north and northeast states and I wondered why people would live in areas with four months of snow, winds, or in other places with devastating hurricanes. It's what you're used to and like, I suppose. Yet, I left southern California - weather isn't everything.

Nobody is suggesting temperatures aren't rising. They're saying its happened before in quite regular cycles and was on the up before we very recently started measuring it. And in the greater scheme of things, 50 years is a blink of the eye in terms data capture given the time scales involved.
The question is whether this time it is being increased due to humans pumping out CO2 and if so, how will it effect the world. If its happening anyway there's nothing can be done and nature will take its course. I would be far more concerned about over population which results in over consumption leading to a situation where the earths resources for humans are unsustainable. The research says we have already gone past that point but no one is doing anything about population increases world wide. They're predicting it will levell off which IMO is just wishful thinking becasue in the very near future food will become a luxury commodity and then the s**t will really hit the fan.

Wind advisory went into effect for Western Washington at 4 pm yesterday. (20-35 mph sustained winds, 45 mph gusts in my area) Continues until 4 pm today. Flood watches and warnings have been issued as well. 5-8" of rain in the Olympics and Cascades (some localized areas will get 10-13" by the time this storm front finally drags itself out of here).

The daily temperature records in London have been maintained since about 1605.
If you put them into an excel spread sheet and run statistical tests for

- The sun output increasing
- green house gas increasing
- etc.,

You get statistical significance on greenhouse gas altering the temperatures.

The U.K. Spring and Fall intervals are becoming shorter global warming is a loose term summers are longer the glaciers on mountains and at the poles are becoming smaller cause they have longer to melt and/but the same time to freeze

This is detectable from the 1600 to date records.

That is the elephant in the room.

Temperature records from past ice ages are dependent on ocean currents, Vulcanism etc.

We are living in an interglacial era ie a warm period like 125k years ago, and are doing a climate experiment.

The current climate models are like smart phone apps, you get a new one, every time they find a bug,...

Sorry you haven't understood the graphs which are poking you in the eye.

The green line is CO2 and as you can see, it has been rising sharply for the last 20,000 years and has tailed off more recently as has temperature rise. CO2 has always fluctuated and is linked to the ice age cycles.

Besides, if current human CO2 output stops the next ice age then thats a good thing isn't it. After all, if we go into another ice age most of the northern and southern hemisphere's will be covered in ice and that means no crops will grow, no grazing for animals and that means death for the vast majority of the worlds population. So its pretty easy to argue that global warming is a good thing. But the scientific evidence shows global warming and cooling have always taken place and that human output of CO2 is a miniscule percentage of what is already being output by nature. That is why there is so much argument between scientists.
