Slight showers with sunshine and today a moment when the light was perfect and I noticed a scene, but had no camera with me.

Similar weather this week.
Out here it's been highs of 98 to 102, humidity % in the teens and twenties. I'm enjoying it. Wouldn't be a summer without some heat!

27C and sunny. Wolf down dinner (stir fry free range yard bird) and then off to Burnaby Mountain Park to shoot the Vancouver skyline at sunset...

A nice break from the heat. Thunderstorms and a sprinkle of rain. 85F maximum before the clouds came and cooled everything down.

Been cloudy and cool in the morning, with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Temperatures around 68-72 deg F (or 20-22 deg C). Humidity a bit higher than previously. Can feel it in my arthritic joints.

My (basement) darkroom dehumidifier does overtime duty this time of ear, even when set to just 50% humidity. Keeps the air wonderfully dry and the mildew under control, but heats up the room about 5F extra degrees.

Check out this link to the NWS CPC long-range (cascading 90-day) forecasts for the entire next year. They are saying a very good chance of higher than average temperatures and lower than average precipitation throughout the upcoming winter in western Washington state through next March.

Clear blue skies and a temperature around 20C. Forecast is for a high of 24C and more of the same. In a perfect world this would be "Kodachrome" weather; instead, I'll be shooting both E100G and E100VS...

Good Afternoon,

Finally, some real summer here in the St. Louis area. The overnight low was around 80°; conditions were perfect for an early-morning bike ride. We're headed well into the 90's with noticeable humidity this afternoon. Maybe this will be the first 100° day of the summer.

Yep. We lost our furnace last November. This fall, we're thinking about putting in a heat pump. That should help keep the house cool in the summer, and provide decent heat in the winter.

Got that bookmarked. That, and the Cliff Mass weather blog, plus the University of Washington Probability Forecast page. Let's hope that it remains at a 65% chance, instead of dropping to 50% or less for El Niño.

Interesting anecdotal observation earlier today.

The USGS reports that a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred at 3:20am in northern California. The hypocenter was located six miles southwest of Napa, California at a depth of seven kilometers (4-1/3 miles, that's fairly shallow). There are reports of both significant damage and injuries.

Moonrise this morning was at 5:34am, only 2 hours and 14 minutes earlier. The lunar phase was at only 0.9% as a waning crescent. This means the moon was positioned near collinear between the earth and the sun at the moment the fault line ruptured...

Thundershowers and heavy rain, close by, yesterday and today, some within 10 miles. Some heavy flooding. Nothing here but clouds and a few sprinkles.

Its been a very Dry and HOT Monsoon here, but thankfully, the farmlands seem to be getting bulk of the rain - and for the second year running at least one part of the country has received historically high rains - more than the annual quota in a couple of days (I wonder if we have breached the 2 deg C threshold already)

Normally the rest of the country is jealous because at least Bangalore seems to get rain on demand (or more likely irrespective of it).

Hoping for rains at least through late Sep/October, quite irritating to see only dark clouds but just a drizzle now and then.

Fantastic and too nice to be in a darkroom.

Bright and sunny, nice late summer clear blue skies...and a comfortable 23C. Great weather to continue until sometime around the middle of next week. Northern lights are expected to be visible this pm, so the F6 is loaded with some E100VS. Tomorrow am, it's down to Ladner/Steveston area with the Hasselblads to shoot some architecture and whatever else catches my eye (thawing out some PanF+ on the kitchen counter at present).

I would swear it was in the 90s recently. But this morning it was 45F and raining when I got up. Even now, I don't think it's gotten above 55F. When I heard about the solar flares earlier this week, I was hoping that would mean the Aurora might be visible this far South. But even if it is, it's likely to be too cloudy to see it. The only time I saw Northern Lights was one summer on Lake George in New York State (did not have a camera handy and it was probably loaded with B&W anyway).

Supposed to be in the low-mid 80s beginning tomorrow and going through Monday. Got the F4 (which, yes, is sadly for sale) loaded with Ektar 100, and an F2AS loaded with Portra 400... So, may go up to a clearing tonight and see if I can get some shots.

We just finished getting 25cm of heavy wet snow. Starting to warm up now, if you call 8C warm. As they say we have 10 months of winter and 2 months of lousy sledding.

Bright and sunny with an expected high today of 103F
I'm going to the Los Angeles Fair tomorrow looking for some Kodak Moments.
Hopefully I won't melt in the heat.

fall like, partly cloudy nice warm sun, dewy in the morning kind of chilly by late afternoon

I understand that the Northern lights are going to be good tonight. Anybody in the northern hemisphere spot this?
