Apparently not done yet. Perhaps when Eli shows us his new camera, or pictures taken with it, this thread will finally conclude.

Happy winter solace!
I think he said he wanted to keep it open because he still hasn’t gotten a free M. “Only” a CL.

A Barnack or M is the original ask.

The CL package is in the States but still going through Customs, then USPS to here.

The Winter Solstice (bump much appreciated!) will allow some extra light for a nice open air box opening.

For those interested, it'll wear a nice Industar 50 collapsible, an 85mm Jupiter 9, a Sun 90, or Jupiter 135.

There's also the I-61, Fed non-collapsible 50's and maybe a Canon FD.

I also luck out with the FSU turret viewfinder and Leica Sports finder.

That said, I really do miss the beautiful little silver Color-Skopar 28mm lens and viewfinder I had on my Barnack IIIc as my everyday carry camera and I hope to find an affordable wide with a good reputation, no necessary a Leica.

Realistic, budget suggestions welcomed

Just took this with a Color Skopar 28 last Sunday. A super lens, but unfortunately out of the $10 price range at the moment.

I recently sold an Orion 15 28mm f6, I think for $250. I really nice lens too, but definitely has some limitations and also is tough to get one in decent shape.
There also is the TTA 28mm 5.6 M mount which you 'can' get for about $200 used if lucky - and that is a super lens. Outside that, I don't know of any other 28s that work properly on an M or LTM. There is that one 28mm Soviet lens that people take off that one fixed lens 1/2 frame camera - I forget the name - but it does not cover the 35mm film area.

I have a Pentax MV camera WITH a lens that I will trade eli for his CL WITHOUT a lens. This once in a lifetime offer includes, at absolutely no extra charge, batteries, a manual, hood, and a size L shoestring in your choice of color (as long as it's brown) for a strap.

So think about it eli, it's a sweet deal. This being the time of year for giving, shoot, someone has to be doing the taking. Just trying to hold up my end here, that's all I'm doin.

The MV? Not even the MV-1? For a fake Leica?

Maybe sell a piece of your existing equipment and use that money to buy the lens you want. That works for most folks.

That's an option on the stuff I bought and payed for, over the years for myself but for now I'll look for a less expensive option in another lens.

Perhaps an adapter for a 24 - 28mm Canon, Nikon, or some other slr might work, but I'd like to hear about LTM lenses of earlier makers, like Minolta, Canon or Pentax.

Beware - the collapsible lenses will destroy the meter arm on the CL first go.

The 45 2.8 Chiyoko Super Rokkor is a really nice, very small lens with great rendering. There are several others made for the early Minoltas that are worth a look.

I am no interested at all in any trades or sale of/for the CL, PERIOD.

This ask camera means something nice to me and I plan on keeping it in use.

I am still interested in hearing about other makers LTM (or M lenses), like those made by the Japanese camera companies after WWII.

Godspeed to All, stay warm!
:horror !

Yes, I've been advised that is the case, and, it seems the same design was used in the M5.

A 1/4" wide band on the lens barrel should keep the Industar 50 I have, off the meter though and I have some steel and aluminum Dymotape that'll fit nicely.

Cheers

Well, the CL has arrived and it's a super nice camera, mint condition and nice and small.

I'll be trying to post some video on this 'box opening' and show some of the FSU kit I'll be using on it.

Moderator, Please add "CL Found"" to the title bar of this thread.

I'll mark the first post now.

An update on the Industar 50 collapsible I have for this lens.

A couple half inch wide wraps of metal tape and one of masking tape to hold the ring form on the barrel, while allowing the ring to slide, without any part of it sliding under the other lens structure, works just fine for keeping the meter arm safe, though the barrel rides out and negates it's nice normal portability.

$20 for the XPAN with the 30mm, 45mm and 90mm and not a cent less!

Does the Industar focus correctly on the CL? p.s post a pic of the CL w it.

It does with the 50 - 75 mm LTM to M adapter, though, until I actually take some shots at infinity, I do have to question that setting, where the lens focus indicator secularly rest on 20m, no the infinity symbol itself.

Cheers
