Just wack it with a hammer a few times and it will be better. 🙄

Tread carefully. N2 often speaks in metaphor and refers to things you might want to wack to feel better , but not with a hammer!

This is a iPhone 13 Pro Max shot of a scan on the computer screen shown in one of those photos…!

P.S. It supposed to look like a painting.

Perhaps if you just attached the scan from your computer, it would look better. It kinda looks like it's been fried in a tablespoon of oil.

Good, it’s supposed to look like that!
That’s a reflection of foliage in the water…!

Those photos are titled reflections, I shot the water showing reflections of the trees and plants reflected in the water…!

Look again. The trees are a reflection in the water, they are upside down…!

Same here. The bottom half is the reflection of the top half shown in the water…!

This is why photography is considered an art.
You can accomplish your own art works that others are not aware of…!

There’s really nothing wrong with the prints or scans when you interpret them correctly…!

However, not at all helpful as diagnostic tools to determine if your camera is operating correctly. Phone photos of a screen viewing a scan are so far removed from the original negatives it's impossible to tell anything useful from them.

Thanks for sharing…!

At this point, is anything being diagnosed? Seems like you have either an explanation or acceptance of all that were prior concerns.

I like the painterly effect in some of your artworks. Please refresh my memory, what film were you using? I went through the thread and couldn't find where I thought you already mentioned that.

I truly like the results I'm getting from the F2. Dean supports my decision that I probably don't need a CLA if I`m happy with the prints from the lab...!

WONDERFUL... your anxiety and potential dilemna have been resolved.

I`m using Ektar 100 for my film...!

I kept using an F2 that had a loud ping when firing from a degraded foam in the mirror box for years until it got too annoying & I retired it pending a CLA.

Finally got that done by Newton Ellis in Liverpool a month or so back. Running a test film through it still, but so far, it seems like they have done a really good job on it.

Well, gosh… that explains a lot. Ektar features robust colors and very narrow scale that makes exposure a bit challenging. Not my favorite film at all but if you like it then it’s good for you. Try shooting some “normal” film and then reassess if your meter head is wonky or not, or if your F2 really needs a CLA or if one might just be good for future reliability.

My meter head probably is not working because of a suspected dirty film advance switch.
I use this instead…!

From David of Process One commenting on the deep blue in the print.

I finally decided to send my Nikon F2 to Dean for a CLA! After looking at the results the Leica M-D produces, perfect exposure, convincing me to give the F2 a fair chance to achieve this …!
