Snoring - what snoring...

Dave - I have no idea what you could mean...

Are you suggesting that my fine chariot may be a little noisy!

Although I mean well, I guess I should reiterate that I would also provide ear plugs as well as An extra cool bed - just in case. But then again, things would have to be desperate for Norms to relinquish bed space in the van at all!

Just a month to go to our social, so I thought I would bump this thread in case any of the new folk had missed it and may be interested in joining in.

In the vein of risk management...

...any work on whether we'll have a roof over our heads?!

Only a couple of weeks to go, just time for the weather to improve / worsen. By-the-way who’s taking charge of the weather gods this time?
I thought I would bump the thread, just in case there are any new comers that haven’t seen it and want to come along, either as day visitors or for the whole weekend. At present there seem to be about 20 APUGers plus spouses with another 5 or so turning up at various times.
Win and I are looking forward to it, and intend being at the hotel (bar) by 4pm Friday, see you then.

OK Dave I'll try again (I only got 7/10 for the weather last time)

I don't suppose Les has called in to get an update on the building works? Shall I bring my tent or are we all staying in Mark's campervan? :D

I hope to arrive around the same time as you Dave. Looking forward to it.

At present Les is out of the country but will be home for 12 hours on Saturday but will call the hotel and post the latest news here.
Looking forward to the weekend and seeing a few photographs.

Overloaded campervans...

Looks like my van will be a bit crowded then!

We are hoping to set off on Thursday night, break the journey halfway in a travelodge or something. Ideally to arrive mid-to-late afternoon. Looking forward to meeting the usual crew plus a few extra bodies etc.

Looks like we will be departing Monday ish. Hoping for reasonable weather - you know the stuff - great clouds, shafts of sunlight etc. I am assuming that a few of you already know some of the area's highlights etc. So I am expecting the usual great things venue-wise.

I will try to bring a spare cable release this time Tony (and give you one back from last time - thanks). You will all have to put up with a few of my prints this time - although I'm looking forward to seeing all the new stuff you've generated too.

Don't forget your alarm clock Richard - I guess we'll do the usual early starts...

Anyone know if the Hotel is finished yet?

Travelodge / camper vans? Am I missing something here? Would you like an early call as we pass by?
Don't worry about the hotel, it will be fine, honest; trust me.

Just spoken to the Beach House Hotel, everything is on schedule and they are ready for the invasion. Looking forward to meeting all who come.

You southern softie!

If it's very cold you'll be issued a second T-shirt and think yourself lucky!

Just out of curiosity I had a look at the web site for the Hotel.
Is that noise on their home page anything to do with the local beer?

noise? - isn't that just the local dialect? Probably something to do with too much lardy fish-n-chips. I think there are more chippies in Seahouses than there are people to eat them.

Have fun everyone - sorry I cant make it ... maybe see you in the autumn.

... and, just in case anyone was wondering just HOW close to the seafront the hotel is: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&h...4573,-1.659043&spn=0.003408,0.011587&t=h&z=17

I've booked a cottage(ette) down the road in Belford for the week starting Sat - need to book somewhere for the Friday night - I'll leave the main hotel for those staying there both days...

If anyone needs a lift from West London & environs on the Friday morning (early!) let me know (but I won't be returning until the following Saturday...).

Cheers, Bob.

Reasonably close to the sea then...

Looks like I had better get wellies for the van then. Looks like my wagon wheels will be in the sand or the rocks!

Shame you can't make it Leon - you'll be missed as ever.

Only a week to go,:surprised: so it's time to pack your toothbrush in your camera bag. I’m looking forward to both making and renewing friendships.

Perhaps a reminder is in order for those coming to bring some of your prints along to show off. It’s not mandatory, but for me it’s the highlight of these weekends, to enjoy the diversity of other peoples work. We have found this aspect to be an excellent ice-breaker for the after dinner chatter on Friday and Saturday evenings. This year we have the use of a function room so will not have to compete with the TV sports channel when conversing, and should have more room to spread our pictures out.

In addition to the APUGers and partners staying in the Beach House Hotel for the weekend Dead Link Removed others are more than welcome to join us at anytime, either for an evenings chatter, or for the daytime adventures, whatever and wherever they may turn out to be. The entry ticket, as always, is simply a love of traditional prints and film.

And there was me thinking it was the Shiraz!

Seriously though - have a great time everybody, and hope to see some of you at the next one. I'll be sending thoughts of soft light and puffy clouds your way.

Delphine,
Wellies will not be needed, Barry has guaranteed that the weather will be perfect; at least that's what I think said.

Not quite! I hope to improve on my previous mark (7/10). Keep those thoughts going Ailsa.

Barry
ps I will be bringing my wellies for the beach
