We'll be rooting for Barry the weather God...

Sorry you can't make it Ailsa - I was looking forward to seeing you go for a paddle in't mud again...

Looks like it's down to me again with the rolled up trousers and bare tootsies as ever. See you later in the Autumn meet perhaps.

I suspect your toes have only just thawed out from the last excursion!

Will certainly do my best to be there in the autumn - wherever it ends up being.

Sorry I can't make it, I had a better offer :D (see other thread).

Seriously, I hope you all have good fun.

There can be no better offer than that of spending a weekend in Northumberland with two dozen snappers. Can there?

You know how it is - there are no buses for ages and then they come at once - I hopped on the one to Paris (anyway it came first). In fact I would love to visit Northumberland again.

Looks like it might give Castlerigg a run for its money...

Hi all

Hoping you all have a terrific time in Northumbria this weekend. I knew when the poll was taken that this weekend was a no-no for me - mother in law's 70th birthday means a trip down to Cheshire is the priority.

Looks like extra clothing and thermos/hip flasks will be required, especialay on Sunday. Wrap up warm and post some images of snowmen for us to look at in the weeks to come.

All the best

Graham

Tip,

Bamburgh castle is extremely well illuminated at night (until about 10pm) and makes for some interesting night photography ( Moonrise over Bamburgh ).

Have fun.

Rob

But the bar opens when the sun goes down. What a dilemma.

Well you can always get a bottle of something and take it with you and besides, Hotel bars don't close until you pass out.

And its only 5 mins away from you...

Unfortunately, it's the new moon on 8th April so it may be up there, but you ain't gonna see much of it

I'm just making a table of tides/sunrise/sunset etc for the week...

Cheers, Bob.

[edit: for the early birds, Sat sunrise is around 06:30 with low tide ~ 07:50. Sunset at 19:55 with low tide at 19:40. High tide at 13:20. All approx... ]

I would put up my "Moonrise over Bamburgh Castle" but it's probably best to let people discover it for themselves and compare notes after the weekend. Besides it's not as sharp as it could be and the exposure was too long to keep the moon still. Next time I'll get it.

I think we may be more likely to get, "Clouds over Bamburgh Castle"...!

Barry, I have to say that, whilst I admire your confidence, I'm not impressed with the results of your efforts so far.
As my school masters frequently said of me "could do better".

I'm with Dave on this one, Barry.

If we end up pub-bound for the duration I think you should pay the bar bill as penance!

 :D

My place is in a complete state of shock, I am not packed yet, and I haven't found any wellies ... but... I am so so so much looking forward to being there.

Packed! I haven't even thought about that yet. It's a 35 minutes job tonight; half an hour for the cameras and the rest for clothes
