I'm also suffering from the same issues running Linux & IceWeasel (38.8.0) to the point where APUG is virtually unusable.

Since the update, I've also been experiencing delays after opening a thread view in a secondary tab. Not sure if this is related to vglink.js.

Edit: Temporary fix is to disable javascript via about:config - This will be an inconvenience with some of the other sites I use...

Hallo,
When I manually logged in I went to the Forums drop-down menu and selected the New Posts option. The New Posts page renders on screen and after a moment the beachball of doom starts spinning followed by the Warning: Unresponsive script box appearing. It doesn't happen if I am not logged in. (Sometimes browse without logging into the site :-/ )

Edit: PS. Didn't know this was possible but I can be logged into the site on Firefox and Safari at the same time!

Ok, this script error should be ok now, you may need to restart your browser and clear cache. After fixing it, I had to clear my browser cache to get rid of it. @Sim2 @paul_c5x4 @ajmiller

seems only related to firefox, will do some more investigating.. but should be ok for now

Seems ok on my Firefox now. Wasn't expecting a fix so soon!
If only all tech support was as efficient as this... :whistling:
Thanks.

Hi, I have updated viglink codes and re-enabled it. It seems ok now as before I could produce the error but so far no issues. Is it still working ok for you guys? Thanks @Sim2 @paul_c5x4 @ajmiller

It would appear that the upgrade has fixed the problem here and also improved the general speed of access at this end. Thanks Sean.

Is it time to change this thread's title to remove "The New" from it?

Does no one else have a problem with the RSS feed? For quite awhile now, I've tried on multiple computers and browsers, and invariably get the following error script:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
^

Old new or new old?

By the way, I am still missing the handy function that I could click on the APUG logo and get back to the frontpage.

Raised a support request, will see if we can get that sorted out. Thanks

I seem to be getting scrambled dates and time on posts.

I seem to be getting local dates and times for some posts, the others seem to be random.

Any links to where you see this would be helpful and a screenshot if possible, thanks

Perfect! Thank you. I was beginning to think that RSS feeds had become obsolete, but I find them very helpful for keeping up with most-watched websites.

Thanks again,
Tom

Viewing media in lightbox is kind of illogical to me.

I'll select an image and start clicking through in the lightbox, then close.

I end up on the image I started with, I wanted to be on the image I just viewed, so I could leave a comment.

Then I go back to lightbox and have to start all over again.

Sometimes I'll want to look at a particular subscriber's media, but I find myself back in the loop of all recent images from the beginning.

Can the navigation in lightbox be more "synchronized"?

Great feedback Bill, I agree it doesn't make much sense. There is a big re-develppment going on in the development environment and I'll try to work on that as well. I'll be posting an announcement soon regarding the site work that is in progress.

Sorry, I didn't check this thread to see if it was reported already, but I just noticed that my subscription had expired.
Okay, it is shown quite clearly on the site, but in the past, I used to get an e-mail about this a few days before expiry.
I didn't get such an e-mail this year. There's a small chance it went to the spam box and I overlooked it, but, well, just something I noticed. May or may not be related to "The New APUG".

P.S.: subscription renewed!

I've found a plugin that can send out notices so hope to have that running today. Thanks so much for the sub!
