In a thread using the "Upload Image or File" button.
In that case allowed size is 1.2 MB 3,000 x 3,000 pixels, will see if I can find an autoresize. Another option for now is adjusting image settings on the phone so they take smaller images.

Please can you answer a question about the RESOURCE section. I wish to contribute an article, a pdf file for people to print if they wish, it is a ZONE dial addition for the Pentax Spotmeter V. I have looked but didn't see how to start an article thread in resources.

PS I'm a new subscriber, this is a great forum, thank you.

A strange thing. When posting a reply to a thread there are always 4 black buttons below.
On the left:
- Insert Bookmarks...

On the right:
- Post Reply
- Upload Image or File
- Advanced Reply...

Funny thing is the button [Upload Image or File] isn't there in this thread:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I tried other threads I'm following and they seem all right. Just not this single one thread. I reloaded the thread, no change, still gone.
Then I checked another "new" thread in the Soapbox and saw the same button missing again.
The only thing I can think of is that this button isn't active on threads posted in [The Soapbox]?? If so, is this policy or a wrong setting of this subforum?

I'll have a look at the permissions, that is strange.

Is it possible to get a confirmation on Mark All Read? Second time I've accidentally clicked it, and it takes days to recover from it. Thanks.
We might have an option for that in the near future. Until then you might need to rely on "Today's Posts" link to keep track.

I accidentally clicked [Mark All Read] instead of [New Posts] in the forum menu above. Is there a way to undo? (probably not). If not, is it possible to have the system ask [Are You Sure?] before it is executed?

It used to ask for confirmation, but some of us found that redundant and annoying. Perhaps it can be an option in our control panel.

Select Today's Posts and then you can see them and view each thread.

On my iPhone there isn't really an easy option to change the saving format, and having a modern 12mp camera on the phone, even the "small" option would be larger than 1.2mb in some cases.

I've already run into this issue when trying to upload, I was able to crop some of the images to get the file size lower, but it's not easy, so thanks for working on an auto-resize option. Much appreciated.

Also, because of modern monitors with higher resolution, I've switched from 850 long side to 1125 long side because people were complaining about images being too small because it seems the higher rez monitors / screens sometimes compres the files so they don't look pixelated, making them smaller, especially 1080i and 4K screens, vs old 256 monitors that are being phased out. Is the gallery image size going to get considered for a size bump? I know this has been discussed in the past but just wondering since it's a new more modern system if the acceptable image sizes in the gallery were going to be reconsidered?

Thanks for all your work on this Sean.

The plan is to get us on a system where our images are stored at Amazon S3 instead of our server disk, once I get this running sizes and space shouldn't be an issue. Just have to clear some other stuff first.

I'm still having no success with the RSS feed. I keep getting the following error:

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
^
I've tried on a couple of computers and get the same result.

Cool, great idea!

Off topic, is there going to be an integrated "like" option? I would love to have not replied to this post and simply "liked" it, acknowledging that I had seen it, and approved of the reply. I can see that helping minimize "atta boy" and "+1" posts, not sure how you feel, just wondering.

This is all great stuff Sean I'm impressed.

You missed the discussion here a while ago. Most of us felt like that would be like being in junior high school again. The majority of the responses were strongly against the "like" option.

Maybe this is on the to-do list already, but ...

The table function seems wonky, look here: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Alas, I just re-confirmed that I am unable to edit a message I posted in one of the groups (Folders!)

APUG.ORG - Error
The controller Snog_SocialGroups_ControllerPublic_Groupdiscussion does not define an action called Editmessage.

An attempt to place several links in the message, although done one at a time, appears to have merged the links and they are not working -- but now I can't even get in to get rid of them!

Further info -- the problem that prompted my edit attempt appears to have been using the link to a specific post within a thread (obtained after doing a search for some subjects). Installing links of a more conventional nature in that post worked, and using the links to a whole thread in some subsequent posts worked.

My guess is the long messy URL derived from clicking on the post # and selecting the URL from the pop-up apparently didn't properly close the link when it was installed in the new post? And having placed three of them in the message, they seem to have combined somehow.
