A few of my own. Simple basic scans, I'm afraid. Printing comes next week.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Well, I haven't developed the "small" stuff yet, but I did manage to scan this 11x14 pinhole image... too bad I can't level my cardboard box better .... LOL Details in the link above, larger image below...

Thanks for the 4x5 film Whitey! Doing some test shots I was sad that the one truly useable film (Plus-X Pan) had only 5 sheets even though the box said 21 haha, such is life!

I still haven't scanned the one 5x7 that looked like it might have an image yet but I'm not very confident...

In the mean time... the TEST

4x5 of my shed...

Kodalith Ortho EI 1.5

All Stand Developed in Rodinal because I couldn't really track down good times for 4 of the 6 with developers I had on hand

The ortho was just too thin even in stand, and so it stuck to the other films and got a little funky. The Royal Pan was horribly fogged, only scanning could pull anything from it. The Plus-X has just a little fog, but since I only have 3 sheets left after the test, it doesn't do me much good in the long run haha, oh well, it was certainly fun to shoot, I'm sure i'll find a use for it.

Thanks Whitey!

Haha it was! I'm going to use the film for a special home project as a memoir to my step father who just passed 2 days after the party, life has been hard since, and I think this will be a good way to honor his memory, so thanks.

A beach party and not one photo of the beach... Afraid to get sand on your toys? Or between your toes?

Whitey was such a good guy, and everyone was just a lot of fun, I'm wondering if we should have a fall picnic outing at someplace with not a lot of people and some nice scenery, perhaps like Devils Hopyard or Kent State Falls? I know completely different areas of the state, just throwing it out there, once a year is not enough!

(PS will someone kindly delete my last post with the backward images? Thanks).

sorry i have a large project i will be working on in the months to come and will need all the 8/10 film i currently own for that. ( cant spare the $$ for more .. broke+ 3 kids + now car repair expenses )

you might find short date 8/10 film from ep levines in waltham ...
go up rt 295 to 95, and at the split continue on 95n its not far from woonsocket
and you can get the address / directions from their website ...
or call them ... i think their # is 617 9511499
or buy some from b/ h. you are in the 1 day ground loop. or call gary at hunts outside of boston , he often has a lot of short date + almost film he has to sell and prices it extremely low ... ( or used to ) i think their # is 781 6626622
id look up the #s to make sure...
good luck

Stone,
If you're in Woonsocket, check out St. Ann's. It's not a working church any more but a great visit- LOTS of frescos and a great place to photograph. There is a small admission charge, but it's pretty cool.

If only I'd known. I have some 8 x 10 you could have had. I'd drive down to meet you but I'm in a different mode...errands and stuff-to-do all day, cottage tonight.

Well at the time of the beach party I didn't own the 8x10, I was waiting for a tax return, and said "I want the 8x10" and you passed by saying "I want, I want, I want" hah! Well I got!

So... I'll be driving home from Woonsocket tomorrow... Have that 8x10 at the cottage?

It's not a lovely place, they call it the armpit of Rhode Island, it's a ghetto if RI would have a ghetto, and my friends desperately want to get out but can't afford to yet.

They call it the woon...

Woonsocket... What a lovely name for a place. Makes me curious.

it is one of the places where the US industrial revolution thrived.
between 1800 and about 1960 the place was full of textile mills ( as was everywhere along the blackstone river valley )
and there was us rubber plant there as well. after all the mills closed
and went south, then to mexico and now other places the mills buildings are just a reminder
of when water was king. the name is a native american name ( narragansett? iroquois? )
which means something like "thunder mist" referring to the waterfalls
on the blackstone river. in the mid 1800s there was a huge influx
of farm-folk ( first girls then their families ) from the french regions of canada
and they worked in the mills in woonsocket as well as everywhere else in new england
places like the boots mill in lowel massachusetts built dormitories for the girls, had schools &c ( 1840s )
and as late as the 1970s french was still the main language of the town and
a lot of people still refer to the town as " woon - sockettte " ( said with a french accent )

sk grimes is located in woonsocket, ( adam &co. / grimes camera repair is too... steve (grimes) used to make me laugh --
he used to always say he was located in downtown woonsocket "city on the move" ..

if you like mill buildings ( big and small ) made of field stone / random ashlar construction, brick wood
duplex ( side by side 1+2 story ) mill workers housing, and a downtown that looked like time stopped in about 1960 you might like woonsocket

http://www.google.com/search?q=woon..._toATx-4KACQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg&biw=1511&bih=760

i worked with a bunch of people who grew up there, it was not a bad place to live ...
