Seconded ... although as I haven't even purchased my first Chrismas / Yule card yet this year I'm going to have to use my brain for this oneFrankB said:Okay, Claire's proposal was "My Favourite Ornament". I suggest we broaden it slightly to "Yuletide Felicitations!" and run with it.
Alternative suggestions, post quickly please. Time's winged chariot, etc., etc.

Affraid it has but there's still a few days before we need to think about shoppingFrankB said:Where and how do we submit for the contest?

Go into Galleries and Upload Picture, change the Choose a Category to APUG Galleries-> The APUG Challenge and continue as posting as to any other category. It's not a contest, just a fun challenge to see what ideas we can come up withzenrhino said:Where and how do we submit for the contest?

Unfortunately, not on this side of the pond you don't: never seen such a creature outside of a Hollywood movie... Clever idea though - would certainly get people thinking! Had no idea they were called "Dixie Cups" either: so, that's January's quota for learning something new completedWarEaglemtn said:One that has worked for some goups I have talked to is this: a photo of a conical 'dixie cup'.
You can photograph anything you want, but it has to have a 'dixie cup' as part of or in the photograph as a recognizable object.
These are the generic, white cone shaped paper water cups you find in water dispensing machines. One to a million, but it has to be recognizable in the final image.

I actually had a friend who thought a bandage was differnt from a Band Aid.
At least your friend didn't think Band Aid was a charity gigrogueish said:I actually had a friend who thought a bandage was different from a Band Aid.

Would that count as abstract art? achooo!!!!!Flotsam said:Does anyone have a Kleenex? I'd like to make a Xerox of it.
It's scary but yep SECONDEDFrankB said:Self-portraits are even worse for me than still lifes... However, the whole point of the challenge is to do something that you ordinarily wouldn't (and, believe me, pointing a camera at myself definitely falls into that category!) so, let's do it!
Anyone second the motion?

What was that saying about "two countries divided by a common language"....TPPhotog said:At least your friend didn't think Band Aid was a charity gig
There again a bandage is a long fabric dressing for wounds and fractures and a band aid is a sticky plaster for cuts and scratches around here.
Very true but happily united by a common interest ..... Photography (and Rodinal oooops couldn't resist lol)Bob F. said:What was that saying about "two countries divided by a common language"....![]()
