I do 5x7 in 8x10 trays for standard development. I di 5x7 in 5x7 trays for standing development.
With 4x5, I use 5x7 trays if I have just a sheet or two. (I use teeny little 4x5 trays for standing development.) When I have more than a sheet or two, or a few groups of a sheet or two that each have different developing instructions. I use those green strawberry basket with one side cut off so the film will lay flatly, and I develop in the same 8x10 and 11x14 trays I use for developing photo paper. I can pull out the baskets with the film to be pull processed before I pull out the rest of the film. I can pull out the baskets with the film to be processed normally at the normal time, and then pull out the film to be pushed after I pull the normally processed film.
If I have much more than a handful of sheets that all need to be processed the same way, I will borrow a 2 L tank and hangers.
Additionally, sometimes I will use my Jobo 3010 tank (on a manual roller base) for black and white high contrast results (usually with D-19 3:1), though I mostly use it for color. I find that I generally prefer the way black and white looks with intermittent agitation, but that the Jobo works great for color films.
Films I use are:
FP4
HP5
Tri-X 320
T-Max 400
Efke IR 820C (though shifting focus is something I can never quite seem to nail without the red dot on the focusing scale)
Rollei IR 400 (every now and then only, because it is pricey)
Neopan 100 Acros (mostly for night photography)
Efke PL 25
Efke PL 100
Ilford Ortho
Arista Ortho Litho (3.9x4.9 in. fits holders, not 4x5)
...and color:
Portra 400NC
Portra 160NC
Portra 160VC
Portra 100T (stockpiled)
EPN/EPP (stockpiled)
T64 (stockpiled)
Provia (not so much any more, but I used to use it a lot, and still have some)
Astia (every now and then)
Velvia 100F (usually pulled one or two stops for landscape use)
Film developers I use:
Ilfotec HC 1:63 and 1:31 (or HC-110 at the same dilutions)*
D-19 straight, 1:1, or 3:1
D-23 1:1, 3:1, 7:1 (recently started using this developer and I love it)
Rodinal (also recently started using it and love it, but usually use it for standing development)
David Soemarko's LC-1 (for developing litho film with continuous tone)
I just got PMK pyro for the first time, so I'll soon know if I like it.
*Used to use D-76 for everything, but HC replaced it.
