Well, let's not forget the Kodak Motormatic 35. I've got one, the spring is good for around a dozen frames at around 2 per second -- except you have to manually cock the shutter in between.

Looking at that Magnum Contact Sheet book this is what pros do. 35 so so rejects and one good keeper.

At $13.00 for a roll of 35mm Tri-X, this hunting sport is getting as expensive as a Safari in Africa.

Interesting you bring movies into the subject matter, given your need to blast away until you get something. Almost like taking a still from a movie.

I saw a clip from a film that Cartier-Bresson made in Paris when the Nazis left town. It showed a French woman angrily confronting a female collaborator. From that clip there was one powerful image that has often been presented as a still. That came as a shock to me.

I'm pretty good at anticipating it. Sometimes it never happens. But when it does happen, I still miss it.

It's a neat gadget, and I wouldn't doubt 2fps. I think I could do 1fps with an M3 without the Leicavit but the benefit of the Leicavit is firing with one hand while quickly advancing with the other hand, which I would think would be better for keeping the camera stable (ish) while you're advancing. Much easier to use a camera with a motor drive of course, but whatever. I had a Contax G2 that could effortlessly fire I think 4fps, all while autofocusing, smooth as silk. You could quickly empty your wallet with a film wasting system like that.

I have a Ricoh 500 with a bottom pull-cock, but still only good for about 1 fps. The first motor drive camera I ever used only did 3fps on a fresh battery.

That's no Ricoh 500; that's a Ricoh Five-One-Nine. If the top says "500", then somebody swapped tops.
And you won't get over 1 fps with those oily shutter blades.
OTOH, those sluggish blades will make the shutter silent, making it even better on the street.
Sharp lens in that Five-One-Nine, BTW. Be sure to shoot some film with it.
