I know there are many threads on the forum in which people share digitized versions of their photos as attachments, but I thought it would be fun/different to see members' photos framed/matted and hanging on a wall somewhere - be it their home, an installation view, etc.

I'll start with one that I just framed/matted and hung in a hallway in my home. Pardon the reflections on the glass, it was the best I could do given the skylight in the ceiling...

The photo was taken in a wooded area close to my home using a Leica M4 and a 28mm Elmarit ASPH lens on Kodak Tri-X 400. I printed the photo on 8"x10" Ilford MG Classic Fiber/glossy finish paper.

The frame was purchased from Framed and Matted. This is the first time I've used them and I was pleased with the experience. Ideally, I would have preferred something a little thinner, but this was the thinnest frame they had (3/4") in this style in black so I decided to give it a try.

Looking forward to seeing some other examples...

I checked out Framed and Matted's website. It seems a bit pricey. Are you in the Los Angeles area? Reclaimed Frame in Santa Monica is very reasonable. A small shop, but really good work and a nice selection of frames. The middle one on the wall is mine and was done by Reclaimed Frames.

I'm in Northern California, so not close to Reclaimed Frame, unfortunately.

Framed and Matted isn't super cheap, but their frames are good quality (hardwood), all materials are archival, etc. I bought the frame, mat (I have a mat cutter but got lazy  ), upgraded UV filtering acrylic glass and received a second mat for free (that's something they offer so you can check out different mat colors) for $94, which included free shipping. I paid a small fortune to have another print framed at a shop in San Francisco so, by comparison, Framed and Matted seemed cheap

Nice print, BTW, thanks for sharing.

It's not on the wall yet, but will be soon. A gift for my family gift exchange.

Handmade 11x14 alder frame with a bevel and a wax finish (not bad for the first one! ). 8 ply archival mat for an 8x10 print. Aspens near Pikes Peak, Colorado.

OK, here goes. Everything here is acting strange after today's bad weather electricity cutoff. No frame, no mats. Just moved, and was lucky to find tape to put up a few darkroom prints and 2 linocuts.

Part of a display of recent 4x5 carbon prints in 10x12 frames. Wood, black. (oh, and one 5x7 platinum print in an 11x14 frame)

Last print I ever framed was before COVID. A Minox print. Since then nothing due to work. Hope this next year sees some relief in personnel shortages at work and less inflation.
I realized I'm just going to have my local gallery/frame-shop to all my framing from now on...but just the other day I drove by and they were boarded up.

Well, it took a year for this thread to really get going, but I'm glad it did.

Some truly amazing work posted here. Thanks for everyone who has shared so far. Let's keep this thread going...

I'm pretty embarrassed about the crappy photo of the print I posted to start this thread. Here's one that's a bit better...

These aren't on the wall. They were about to be wrapped as gifts. Small, selenium-toned prints, both made with my K1000.

This lith print was in a show juried by Michael Kenna. Needless to say, I'm a tad bit proud of it. 🙂
