As you can see I had to make 2 groups with 5 participants instead of 4.

Lets shoot for having the prints in the mail by the last week of December. And I promise that I will have mine sent out by the deadline

I have asked Sean if it would be possible to set something up for our addresses like they have for the post card exchange, but have not heard back from him yet.

I have had a request from Leon to be put into a different group because he and Jeremy Moore was in the same group last time.

Because groups are chosen by a random drawing it is hard to control this.

Would anyone be willing to swap spots with Leon?

Thanks!

Jim

P.S. Mark, you are welcome.

Jeremy - this is not anything to do with not wanting more of your prints - I wouldnt mind that at all!!! I just thought it would be more in the spirit of the exchange to have a completely different group each time! - hope you dont take my request the wrong way ???

anyway thanks for swapping Andy

I should also say that Leon was in no way was complaining and in fact had high praise for Jeremy's work.

I am looking forward to the enjoyment of making some prints and to the greater enjoyment of receiving someone else's work.
Thanks for the opportunity. :D

I'm really excited myself. This is my first experience with, what I feel will be a positive experience. Images on the computer screen can only show so much. Also, since I shoot almost exclusively in color, I am really looking forward to seeing some good B&W images in my own two hands.

Oh, yeah, sure, I see how it is

Just joking, I didn't even check the board until after the switch had been made, so I wouldn't have even known if it hadn't been posted.

You're missing out, though, Leon, because it's going to be a palladium print this time around

With all this talk I hear about people "slacking" in the previous print-exchange... will I be looked at as a wierdo when my prints are mailed in a couple of weeks? I'm sorry, but I work quickly. -Grant

You won't be the only one earlier... I'm good to go now. (New baby, gotta get things done when I have the chance) I'm just waiting for the addresses to be exchanged and mine will be in the mail within the week.

I'm hoping to have mine done in the next two weeks (I've set aside some time), but I haven't picked out the image yet :D

Sounds good. One question. How do others generally handle the question of customs on shipped images. Since you normally have to attach a customs declaration to all packages and declare a value, I wonder if the customs authorities will want a fee from the person receiving the package. Has anyone run into these issues before? I generally only put down a value about $10 USD on these type of packages. Should I be using a different value?

I'm planning on putting a customs sticker (little green declaration stickers here in Canada) that says sample print with no value.

I usually mark that it is a "Gift" with a US Dollar Value of "$1.00".

I just mark it as "Gift" and a $ value of "N/A"

I haven't been hassled yet.

Do we have a place for addresses yet, or do we just pm the others in our group?

For packages to Canada, declare them as a gift, with $0 value. Anything above $0 will force the recipient to pay a 7% sales tax + $5 handling fee. I've even been charged GST + other fees for packages marked as gift with a declared value > $0.

I received a beautiful panoramic photo taken in Utah by Joe Symchyshyn who lives in Canada (are you a transplanted American, Joe, or are you a wandering Canuck?). Was planning on printing my photos in the beginning of November, but then got assigned Cicero's Pro Archia to translate and haven't had too much free time in the evenings (outside of 5 minute breaks to post here )

This does remind me that I do not have the addresses for the other two in my group:

Andy Tymon
galyons

My prints will be sent out in about 2-3 weeks, but definitley before the end of the year. We get about a month off between the fall and spring semesters so I will probably be printing the next round's images during that time, too!

Have the addresses gone out yet, or is there a private address page set up yet? I don't think I have the addresses of the other members of my group.

I wasn't in the first round, but in Round 2 J Moore PM the addresses to us. I have Joe's address and print as he personally PMed me his address and a request for mine--he was already printing and decided to be done early.

Wandering Canuck... It was taken on a trip to the Southwest USA.

I'm glad that you liked it Jeremy. Thanks for the kind words. I'm looking forward to getting exchanges in return when you all have some free time.
