Rick,
You pretty much said it all. Thank all of you who worked to try to recover the camera. It's a shame somebody can be so selfish...
Or so ill....

I don't remember what this round was about, but I have one shot that I can share. I haven't got a clue what my second shot was.

With each round taking several years and thousands-of-miles, it's a miracle any of these cameras and image survive at all.

Everyone's gone sour, and understandably. But while it is disappointing to lose the camera, I'd like to clear the record a little:

Chris (cdholden) participated in the Round 9 forums, and got the camera off on about 6 weeks, which is less time than some of us did in the round. Of course, I don't know Chris, but I'd like to think there is no ill-will involved.

As mentioned, sometimes (often) life gets in the way.

I would love for you to be right Shawn about Chris, Shawn. I simply see how much effort was involved in us trying to get in touch with him, with some success at one point (and promises, promises, promises), to now being completely ignored. In my book, there's just no excuse. If life gets in the way, it's a simple act, with minimal time/financial commitment ($ some of us offered to cover), to go to a Post Office and send the package on its way. Taking the photos is completely optional, moving it along is not.

I still have hope that he will come here one day soon, see the hurt he caused, excuse our, at times, biting words, and return the camera, journal, etc., back to Rick.

The next round should be a
" Pay For Play " trial. The person receiving the camera would make a
$20.00 U$D PayPal deposit to the person sending the camera. And that process would continue until the round is completed. That's should be a great method to prevent scoundrels from being involved . . .

I have been responsible for them going missing a couple of times, but we always manage to find them... well, we have up to now.

Greetings, all.
I want to apologize for the delay in this round. I won't go into all the details, but I'm back in Nashville and have possession of the camera again. I'm sure most of you are upset with the delay, but know that this was not malicious intent on my part. There have been several factors beyond my control, but I am moving forward with positive news.

Shawn,
The camera is yours. Can I proceed with the next in line or should I just return to you? I don't have time to go back through this thread tonight to figure out what I missed.
Thanks,
Chris

Just had to look back at the start date. Looks like this round has only been going for three years so far!

No Chris, the camera is mine, as is the journal. Box everything and send it directly to Shawn.

Hey all - I've never kept film in a camera for 3 years, but wondering if there could be any effect on it. Should be light tight, of course, but how about aging and humidity?

You need to do a controlled test. Send another camera with film on a three year odyssey, process the film and evaluate the results before you develop this one. :whistling::D.
More practically, it probably will be fine if developed normally. If not, then there probably isn't much you can do about it.
If you normally develop in different ways, for different contrasts, then I would recommend leaning toward ensuring more, not less, contrast.
The film might be a bit curly. I wouldn't try to load it on to a reel in a dark bag on a hot and humid day.

When it gets home, I plan on developing it in good ole D-76 1+1. Fingers crossed, supplications and burnt offerings to the film gods that it all looks good.

Wow, I forgot to look in the mirror before driving away from travelling cameras...

All hope isn't lost, after all.

Welcome back, Chris.

I looked in the mirror, but mostly what I noticed was more grey whiskers and hairline starting to recede...

What I really want to see here in this thread is a note from Shawn saying "The Eagle has Landed!".

Read through entire thread. Must buy South Africa animal stamps somewhere. Concept of using one camera is great.

When does round 11 begin?
