Probably easier to make a dirty bomb in your garage.

Will "colour" chemistry work with color film? Must have something to do with the Coreolis force.

Woo Hoo!!!! I *knew* it was only a matter of time before someone succeeded! Way to go!!!!

Hello Apugers

I have been very quiet on APUG lately and have been busy in my lab doing some experiments and tests. As it seems this Kodachrome one ended up online here as a result of me posting it on my personal Facebook Page.

There are some things I should mention about this test....

1stly : I have absolutely no intention of offering it as a service. The Cost, The limited amount of chemistry I have for this process and the fact no new film stock is being produced means this just wont happen.

2nd : While the thread states HOME processing people should be aware that I am working in a fully equip professional photographic lab which without I could not have done this process.

3rdly: While Kodachrome is process K-14 I did not strictly process this in k-14 chemistry. It was processed using an butchered version of this process and other improvised adaptations which can yield a result but the chemistry does not keep nor can I guarantee the archival properties of the final product. Its a one shot process.

Thanks for the interest in one of my personal tests .

Yeah yeah. So, just to be clear, we can send you 8x10s and you will process them? For how much?

But seriously, I'd like nothing more than for you to charge some absolutely mind-blowing fee to do one-off kodachrome processing. Just name your price. Then this news will percolate through the 'net and get some people moving.

This is just freakin awesome!!!!!! Best photography news I've seen in weeks. Congratulations!

Wow! I hope you share the formula and process at some point, those images look fantastic.

Finally some real good news in these dark days of discontinuances.

Wowie wow wow wow.

Very impressive results. A_Caver here on APUG has done some preliminary testing with this kind of thing as well. I wonder how their methods differ or relate.

What's it gonna take to get the skinny on the process? Not that hard work and insight should go unrewarded, but it would be a shame to keep it a secret. Though that's easy for me to say... it's not my secret!

I have a roll for processing, could you do it for under £20? That's how much they charge for black and white negs from Kodachrome here!!

Great to see that the mysteries of the Kodachrome process can be cracked. But then it was invented by musician

I believe Kodachrome is in the key of Bb demented minor.

Steve.

A word they can't spell in the US :D Sometimes colour slides are called Chromes despite the fact that the first Chome films like Wratten & Wainrights Verichrome were in fact B&W
