So far I've received these postcards:
"Leaves" from @AnselMortensen. The way the leaves overlap makes my eye follow them in a clockwise fashion around the piece. There is nice separation in the tones, too. The leaves really pop vs the background clover (?) groundcover.
"Storm Brewing" from @Michael Howard. What I find most interesting is that the clouds in the sky look very bright while you can see the shadow of a storm against the ground. I've spent some time in Arizona, and I can practically feel the wind picking up here.
"Tire and Shadows" from @mfohl. Digging the textures on the stones here, as well as the toothy shadow. There's a reflection or pattern of some sort in the glass window, several arches of some sort. I'm so curious about them.
"Tree Shadow" from @Ajven. Nice to see someone else who digs tree shadows. It actually took me a moment to realize there was a vertical seam in the corrugated metal because it lines up with the trunk so well. I also like how the branches on the far right of the photo almost look like they're touching the metal.
"Gear and Chain" by @Todd Barlow. The light on this one is great, and the depth of field is perfectly chosen. The chain pile in the lower right somehow adds a soft touch to the solid nature of the rest of it, in part because of the rounded loops and in part because of the slightly softer focus right there.
"Galerie Ravenstein" by @rduraoc. The lines in this are great--I like how the lines in the ceiling and the lines in the floor match each other. The vertical lines of the hallway frame this all nicely, and I like that the people are blurred. I'm curious to know what the four themes you shot were.
Thanks, everyone! My own postcards are ready to go. Since there's no Sunday pickup, might just wait until Monday.
