Thanks, @Daniela! I think mundane scenes like these contain little miracles that I find far more fascinating than many gorgeous landscapes etc. Although those are also...well...gorgeous

I presume the card I rec'd today from Mihai Toma is from the "postcard exchange that keeps on giving!" - pcx59, as there is no exchange number.
the unfamiliar postmark date is - 07 08 23 12 - format?

an abstract of sorts - a juxtaposing image of a religious icon below a graphic a/c unit - a worthy late arrival offering many interpretations! Thanks, mToma.

from dunga, I received "edge of white", a beautifully printed and dramatic view, lonely, cold. I didn't remember the card from 57, so pulled it out. 2 wonderfully different winter views. I was surprised to see the same envelope, different color. Thank you Claudiu.

A nice collection of cards have piled up in my flat file drawer, so it is time to comment on them.
"Edge of White" from Dunga's is very nicely printed. It is a good example of how "negative space" can enhance a photo. Well done. I hope the proposed power lines have not disturbed the forest too much.
"Things Are Looking Up" from MToma is another example of the use of "negative space". Instead of being distracting the viewer is drawn to the heater, and back to the mural.
"Mancave" from MattiS is a nice portrait of Pit in his creative space. It is very sad to loose these creative spaces.
"Two Men" from bedrof depicts a conversation in nature. I wonder what they are talking about?

I am looking forward to Round #60, and many more nice images.

I also received Dunga's "Edge of White", a beautiful winter scene. Excellent exposure of the snow covered trees on the left, leading into the abyss of winter. Very nice. Extra points for going out in such extreme weather. More extra points for using my favorite medium format camera, the C220. Nicely done, and thanks Claudiu!

I received bedrof's "Alpine High Country" today. And high it is, very high. Taken near Chamonix in France, what a cool place to take a vacation. Very nice, thanks Ilya!. Makes our current cool fall weather not so bad!

I am woefully behind on this, but before sending out cards for round 60, I wanted to be sure to thank everyone for the really wonderful cards I received this round:

• MattiS sent Mancave which one of two portraits I received this round, and I have to admit that this one stuck with me. At face value it’s a very nice portrait of a friend. But when I read the story about these work spaces being closed down, my focus wandered to the background and how the arrangement of all those things probably took form over many years and how he probably knows exactly where every item is on those shelves. The choice to blur the background, but only slightly, emphasizes the closing of an important ‘centering’ space in many people’s lives. Made an impression on me.
• The other portrait was titled Isaak Sieman and was sent by Rob Skeoch. It’s the second portrait I’ve received from Rob’s series on Cowboys and Bullriders. The lighting and other technical aspects of the photo are very well done, but what really nails these are the eyes locked straight into the lens and the intensity of their expressions and stance. Hoping to see more of these in future rounds.
• The first of two floral subjects was from drpsilver, titled Tidy Tips, Edgewood. These flowers have an interesting pattern and the light edges make them stand out nicely. The toning worked well for this print.
• The other floral, Peeking Blossoms arrived from BHuij. A nice springtime find and caught with some nice lighting on the petals.
• mshchem sent Giant Weed Whacker which is apparently a train-mounted weed trimmer. If train tracks came near my yard, I’d have a job for that!
• Todd Barlow sent Abandoned Dock, a nice portrayal of a time-ravaged dock showing the very large number of spikes originally used to hold the whole thing together.
• Old Stones from Michael Howard is precisely that — a beautiful stone church adjacent to a graveyard. Those old churches are really beautiful.
• Similar in theme henryyjjames sent Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga. The shot angle is interesting and emphasizes the imposing presence of the cathedral along with its architectural intricacies.
• jvo sent morning conversation, cups’ Joe. A peaceful scene with two people having conversation over coffee. I liked the decision to emphasize certain colors against the monochrome background — it works well here.
• Mfohl sent Two Cans. Photographing silver metal is always tricky, especially in sunlight. Got me thinking: you’ve got the coffee and gas tank, add a little water and flame and you’re good to go!

On June 4, an address correction was sent out to everyone that changed Henry's address from the one in Ireland to the US. I guess, by the time you (@Dunga ) addressed your cards, you'd forgotten about the change and went with the address in the original message.

It's easy to do. The current round, a correction was sent for a postal code but I'm pretty sure I forgot to copy it over (the card got there, anyway).

Yup, "moved" seems like the term that would give most clarity.
"Gone away" is very dramatic and mysterious for a form )
