I also received the Cactus about a week ago. Great find, great execution.

Now I have my postcards printed, although a few of them are still drying. I'll try to get them out early in the week.
+1 on that -incidentally Pinecones also open in the Fibonacci sequence.

So many possible images, and so little time to print. Must make time to play in the dark.

The fibonacci is really good. I need to start to selenium tone myself, I really like the blacks and those are a good add.

I printed my first three postcards today...Whoohoo!!! I might just send them off tomorrow already.

Now I have two cards! BSP - I like the composition and the two lines almost meeting at the ship. Reminds of my compositions but done better. I wish I lived in a place like that.. The card has got a bit damage but in a good way. Only missing the text "Greetings from .."

Thanks guys, checking the mail has never been this exiting.

I received a photo from "dodphotography" that was taken in Le Marais, Paris. Very unusual and cool - and I'm not entirely sure how it was done. Very nice!

Mine are ready to send, I just have to go by the post office.

I have received mfohl's card rue St Martin, a fine example of architecture, like the sharp window and lamp display.

Two cards received so far:
1) vedostuu - "Ficus" - I too appreciate the light and airy feel. And I always enjoy cards that look good no matter which way they are turned!
2) drpsilver - "Fibonacci Cactus" - The Fibonacci progression has fascinated me since my early years as a university math and physics student - a very long time ago. Darwin's card shows a perfect example, with the cactus wonderfully framed and presented. The print quality is great as well.
Back in my university science days, I was amazed to learn that there was an entire scientific journal - The Fibonacci Quarterly - devoted to all things Fibonacci. I am happy to advise that it remains a going concern: https://www.fq.math.ca/index.html
As for my cards, they are printed and toned and the labels are printed as well. I hope to get them all into the mail today or tomorrow.

I received "Three Doggies" from mfohl today. The subject is an awesome find, and the framing is perfect! There is a lot of texture, even in the lightest parts of the graffiti. Thanks for the card, mfohl!

Received a card from "dodphotography" today. Very ordinary subject but well performed. Very fascinating, altough you know what it is - you don't. Strange. Thanks Daniel!

Three more cards received:
iandvaag - "Aberdeen Elevator" - those old prairie grain elevators make fascinating subjects, and this card does a great job showing one, right in front of a prairie sky!
mfohl - "Three Doggies" - an excellent example of whimsical graffiti, and the print is great too.
dodphotography - "Le Marais - Paris Street Art" - an intriguing vignette of some street art. I see that it is a portion of an 8"x10" contact print. Does that mean that other recipients have received other portions of the same contact print?

I too have received one of these postcards, with only the senders 'actual' name on it, so I'm glad that others have mentioned who it was from on this forum.

As said, it is a print from a part of a 10" x 8" neg, so I to do wonder if we all get the same or different parts of the whole picture?

Either way, many thanks for the card Daniel.

I received two very nice cards so far.
vedostuu - "Ficus" - with its soft contrast and the subject the card reminded me a photograph of a vine from some previous round (from mike c?). And a fig tree leave itself looks very promising to photograph.
drpsilver - "Fibonacci Cactus" - beautiful pattern and great printing and contrast. I wonder it got to be really gorgeous when printed really big, but it works really well in a postcard format.

First batch of my cards is out there now. Hope to finish the rest of them soon.

Thanks MattKing!

I received mfohl's "Extended shadows" today. Well spotted location and balanced so peacefully. I like that you left some space on left next to the wall. Just the needed amount. Perfect!

I like the repeating patters in the postcard from vedostuu. The use of contrast to focus the viewer is well done. As others have said there is an "airiness about this photo. I would like to see some tone in the upper left corner to delineate the image from border.
The card from dodphotography is quite an interesting of icons. I am not sure what message is being communicated. It would be interesting to see the entire 8x10 negative. (I am interested in how your process such a large sheet of film. I shoot 4x5.) Well done.
The photo from mfohl is the second in this round made in Paris, France. A very nice example of the varied architecture in Paris.
The card from BSP appeals to the engineer in me - a nice collection of old gauges. These were critical pieces of equipment that are now museum pieces.

Thank you to all for some very nice images.

Regards,
Darwin

I also received DRPSILVER's spiraling composition today. At first glance I could not believe it was a photograph of an actual physical object....so perfectly composed and toned as it is. Very nice work Darwin!

The plant-theme now covers 100% of the postcards I have received.
Did I miss out on some secret instruction?

Anyway DRPSILVER, my postcard to you is something entirely different is en-route. I hope you like it.

Regards,

Bill (BSP)

Bill, I fist thought to print the cactus as a rectangle, then "on a lark" printed it square and liked it better. I think square fits the circular spiral in a pleasing manner.

Thank you Bill, Howard, Mark, Jake, Jouni, and Ilya for your kind words.

Regards,
Darwin

Matt, I have also been interested in the Fibonacci sequence because it shows-up seemingly everywhere. Thank you for your comments, and information about the Fibonacci Quarterly

From trees to grain elevators my daughter just dropped "Aberdeen Elevator" from Ian Andvaag on my desk today. A fine photograph of a large wooden elevator with great looking clouds defining it from behind.
