Received "Stay right there!" from bedrof. Looks like a frame from a photo shoot. Nice capture.
Thank you for the shot.

Nice rock formation from Darin WC. I have one of those with the blackened edge. Any partial solarization? Interesting overall feel to this photo.

'Hey Joe' by Bill-nice moody performance shot. I also love a bit of reportage!

Hi everyone,

Just an update - my cards are printed and addressed, and hopefully won't have any problems sending them when I go to the post office this afternoon as Japan Post is really limiting the amount of mail that goes in and out of the country (!). Doing a quick search through all my papers I came across 5 postcards from this round: jvo's ALIEN, wayne frederick's low tide, awty's "self-portrait in wire", Gjisbert's old bristlecone pine tree, and Rowreidr's buoy wall and fish bar. Interesting cards all around, full of fun shapes and textures. I'm sure I have the other cards sent in this round floating around somewhere, once I'm done reorganising and cleaning my living room/office they're bound to show up!

Edit - cards went in the mail today. I couldn't get a straight answer from the ladies at my local post office so I decided to chance it. I think for most countries the cards will get through, but maybe the ones headed to the US will be delayed somewhat. They're already late, what's a few more weeks (or months?)

Now posted in the correct thread

I just received @mooseontheloose Rachelle's capture in Hanoi of a streetside barbershop in operation.

A lovely addition to my collection, well composed, developed and printed. Thank you. The postcard survived the trip from Kyoto to Vlissingen in allmost pristine condition too!

I am guessing your Rolleiflex has a standard lens (75mm-ish) and was wondering if the barber heard your click?

I just love square prints on postcards. I might just break-out my Mamiya C220 for the next postcard exchange.

Stay safe but stay alive too!

Kind regards,

Bill @BSP

That took a while! But I'm glad it got through alright.

My father and I are building my home darkroom in the next two weeks, my cards will go out!

Mooseontheloose's wonderful card, could be mid evil London street scene except for the railroad tracks. Great card Rachelle.

i received "train street" from rachelle moose on the loose - a wonderful image, (it's great to vicariously share your travels, as well as imagine all the other images).

the down-the-center framing with the counterpoint of the woman working on the left side, the angle of the light, and large depth of field is counter-intuitive to the "rules. it really makes this a great image, well-exposed and expertly done.

Thanks Mike and James. Mike, I'm assuming you meant medieval, not mid-evil London, although the latter does sound interesting!

James, it was difficult to get a clean shot of the street without Instagrammers somewhere in the background (in fact, I think it may be closed off to tourists now). I tried to get a slice of local life when I could, without being obnoxious about it. This image required a bit of work (some split-grade printing, which I rarely do, especially for this exchange) to keep the tones balanced out.

YEP, thats what I wanted to spell , but just did'nt done do it. You did a very good job in controlling the highlights and keeping detail in the shade, must be a tough place to live with the train passing through.

I completely forgot to write here about those few cards of this round received earlier this year.
So
Gijsbert - An old tree card - sharp, crisp and shows a beautiful contrast. Very classic looking one.
Darinwc - Rocks and trees of Sacramento area - the card looks sort of vintage. Brownish tint of the white borders suggests the paper received a little fogging all over, not only on the edge (where it got slightly black), but surprisingly it enhances the atmosphere of the image. Special thanks for the description letter which came along eith the card.
Dodphotography - Le Marais contact print card - un unusual subject for a card. It shows a fine detail of this street art. Looks interesting.
Wayne Frederick - Low tide at Willard beach - a somewhat lo-fi card but with a great impact. A scene itself is so natural. Thanks for an interesting details on the back.
MattKing - Upwards - this tree card makes almost ideal pair to the one from the round 47. Comparing the difference of the sepia and brown toning gives some ideas.
Tezzasmall - A white flower card - a glimpse into a garden. I see blossom looking very much like lilies but don't see any pond.

Thanks for all those cards!

Last week I received a card from mooseontheloose of a street barber in Hanoi. I like the informal feel of the photo. An insight into the street life in Hanoi. Thank you fro sharing your adventure to the countries of Southeast Asia.

Regards,
Darwin

@mooseontheloose - Street Shave, Hanoi - I like the bottom-weighted vertical print. Nice dappled light. Just the reading the name Hanoi brings a lot of weight to my mind. I bet it would be quite a place to visit. Well worth the wait; thanks!

Thanks! That took a while to get to you, but I’m glad it made it through!
