Hopefully my images are different then what you expected in a good way. If that's true, thank you for saying so.
As I said, I really like the images - they are really good.
The difference in expectation relates to expectations of style and mood and choice of subject.
Assumptions are dangerous things!

I guess I should contribute something to the thread:

I’m tempted to hand color this.
Please do so - I'd love to see the result.
It looks way better as a print, so if hand colouring gives it a bit more zip as a digital image, I'll enjoy the result.
Here is some colour - which definitely does depend on colour for its strength:

Was this with an xpan?

No, it was a Linhof Technorama 617 with a Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon 90mm F 5.6 on Tri-X @ 1000 ASA processed in E-76 1+1 (= home brewed Hydrochinon free version of D-76), no filter and shot handheld (must have been around F 16 and t: 1/125 sec).
All the images in that book are made this way.

Nice, but I think it would look better in b&w

Surreal place. Nice image.

Thanks. Yours too.

You may well already be aware of the history, but the reservoir was created by flooding several villages, including Normanton; the upper levels of the latter's church is all that now remains above water.

I was aware the lake wasn't natural but thought it was just the church that was affected. Wikipedia says the reservoir only goes back to the 1970s. That is a surprise.
