Here’s one from Vedauwoo. A winter storm moving in gives what Fred Picker liked to call “Squall Lighting”. 100 TMAX, Spotmatic F with a scratched Super Takumar 35mm f/2 (the one with the big 67mm filter size) and Kodak press-on yellow filter (also questionable condition) gives a touch of halation to my wide-angle pictures from this trip. Film was developed 12-MAY-2021 for 15:30 in D-76 1:1 68-degrees F compensated time (12 minutes real time 72-degrees F). In fresh D-76 this would be 0.65 CI but developer was mixed 5 months before. So my result was 0.50 CI. I wanted to use this paper, Grade 2 Galerie Matt 8x10. Because I missed my aim developing the film, the result is flatter than I wanted. I am sure it will look better on Grade 3.

Or perhaps, just a lot darker (in honour of the squall lighting).

Garage Gauthier - Portra 160

View attachment 274968

I keep coming back to this image. The only building shown completely is the white building, it's framed by two red brick buildings that are cropped and partially obscured by trees. There's a feeling life is happening outside of the frame. People could walk into the image at any time. The car helps to emphasis the white building, drawing the eye to it by seemingly pointing at it. A moment on a pleasant sunny day. A subtle yet complex composition.

I enjoyed your interpretation Stephen.

Had I taken the picture a moment sooner it might have included one of the local prostitutes walking by..

I don’t know the whole history of that white home but it was a horse stable until the late 1970’s when it eventually became the local neighborhood garage (Garage Gauthier) just around the corner from my home - and I’ve seen that car parked there every day since I first moved here.

Remarkably in the 20 years I’ve lived here I’ve never taken a single photograph of my own neighborhood - which i recently discovered has many hidden gems and is making me see things under a whole new light.

The colors aren’t quite right but last night I spent some time fooling around with Colorperfect - which seems to be spot on every time. I’ll post some more next week.

I may go back and chat up the girls - they could add an interesting compositional twist.
