Wonderful, worth the extra time spent!Today is the anniversary of taking this image. Wouldn't have gotten it except an ATM ate my card and I was trapped on Orkney a few extra days.

Still worth it!And the close to $300 spent on long distance calls to get the ATM card back. The ferries only took cash.
Does this adequately reflect your opinion of that ATM

Lovely, interesting and powerful photos.
Nice Don, half, half doesn't often work, but it does here with the conflicting textures.View attachment 274484
Taken on 4x5 FP4, PyroCat-HD developer, orange filter. This is a lousy scan of my first stab at this negative.
Wow! Thats one hell of a grain storm. Think it needs some definition in the house, love the zig zag.An image I posted previously after attempt at Gumoil... View attachment 274153
The only people who care whether you crop are others who dont crop....and their probably not going to buy one of your pictures any how. You should do what ever it takes to get the best out of a negative...which you obviously do very well at.Thanks. Except for the Ring of Brodgar, aka ATM shot, these are work print images and are part of a project revisiting images that had promise but never went anywhere. The way I see has changed over time and I decided to be less rigid with things like cropping (still nothing from the sides - 1st and 2nd image). For certain subjects, the 4x5 format includes too much negative space reducing the dynamic. Took me a long time to get over my self imposed restrictions.
