Please excuse the somewhat specific question that follows!

The AIS 28mm f/2.8 is one of my favorite Nikkors. I am thinking of getting an H2 focussing screen for my F3. However, in the little brochure that came with my E screen, the 28/2.8 is not shown as being compatible with the H2 screen. This strikes me as strange, since the H2 screen is shown as compatible with the 28/2.0 and 28/3.5 (so it's not the maximum aperture that's the problem) and with the 24/2.8 and 35/2.8 (so it's not the focal length). So I'm wondering if it's a typo in the brochure, or if there really is a problem using the 28/2.8 with the H2 screen!

I know that it is shown as compatible with the H1, but (a) some of my other lenses are not compatible with the H1, and (b) H1 screens seem to be hard to find.

So if anyone has used an AIS 28mm f/2.8 with an H2 screen, please let me know whether it worked OK!

Thanks a million,
Andrew

Thanks macfred and Richard S.

Yes I'm aware that it works with other screens like my K and E. Just interested to try an H. May as well make use of the interchangeable screens feature

I have the H screens H2 3 and 4. I'm pretty certain that the H2 worked fine with my 28mm f/2.8 Ais; the differences with the H series is the pitch of the micro prisms in the screen, the angle of incidence from longer lenses is narrower..while you can use H2 screens for most lenses the longer lenses really need the H3 and H4, the image on the screen gets quite vignetted.
I used to use the H3 with the Nikkor 300 and 400 f/2.8 for night time sports which really really helped with follow focussing in low light.
