Thanks for the kind words. It is rewarding to see so many of these cameras get a new lease on life. The F100 was my first 35mm film camera and I absolutely love that camera. I was not going to let a piece of plastic get in the way.

As a update; The N80 purpose latches should be ready for shipping in 2 weeks. Just got word they are done being machined. I will be making a new purpose made instruction manual for the N80 as I have a N80 with broken latches that I will be working with for step by step pictures. I have already used the new filing guides and they set the height perfect to where a purpose made latch is not needed. I am mostly doing the N80 latch for cosmetic reasons. Once all that gets sorted I will split the N80 to a new eBay listing so I can better keep track of orders.

New latches for the F80/N80 are in and I test fit on my N80 with broken latches. Works like a charm. Price for on forum buying is that same as the F100, 32 shipped for domestic shipping.

Exactly one year after mounting the replacement latch to one of my F100s the superglue failed during (luckily) closing the film door. It bonded well to the plastic material of the door, but the metal latch simply fell off. Maybe the superglue wasn´t fresh, maybe I did not degrease the surfaces appropriate.

So I filed off the superglue rests, cleaned, degreased the contact surfaces with an alcohol pad and reglued it with my favourite Pattex Stabilit Express (I use that stuff since ever, never failed). Keep my fingers crossed it will hold better this time.

A nice 2 part epoxy or other 2 component adhesive like you listed really is the best option for long term. Degreasing/cleaning is a must though.

You wouldn't be able to send someone a P.M until either you've been here a bit longer or made a certain amount of posts .

I bought one off him as soon as he posted this here , my F100 doesn't need one , it's still working just fine as I close the door carefully . But it's nice to have one for if or when it does fail .
He's also selling a similar catch for the F80 now .

I have updated the latch design slightly for the N80 and the F100. I increased the thickness of the latch protrusions so I could get even more of a chamfer on them. This increased chamfer makes for reduced friction between the inside latch and the new metal latch and makes the door close even easier. Like before, machining marks are removed with a fine file and (3) grits of sandpaper for a nice cosmetic look. The updated F100 latches have been shipping for a couple of months but the updated N80 latch is now shipping as of last week.
