Thanks everyone for the support!

My 2nd batches of latches arrived with a little better cosmetic finish. I also am reducing the price down to $32 Shipped.

Greetings. There is now an alleged remedy to repair the broken latch on a Nikon F100 back door. It is being sold on the big auction site for a little over $40.00 (USD). Has anyone done this modification to know how well it works?

Thanks for any info you might be able to provide!

I can't recall the thread's title but a search should find it. The inventor started it and his latch received some very good reports

That's awesome. Do you sell them? If so, how do we contact you?

Thanks

From June 18, 2022 and onward, all the metal latches are getting a brushed finish in order to remove machined marks on the visible side (when installed). Basically I start with 60 grit sandpaper and move to 160 grit. It really makes for a nice finish. Purely cosmetic change.

Any chance you could also do those for Nikon F80?

I know F80 is not worth much at the moment, but maybe that would change if people knew they had an easy way to replace the latch when it breaks. Otherwise it's a great camera.

I just spent a day filing down an Ikea aluminium door handle to make a new latch. No fun if you don't have the tools. But my long search for a new F80S (call me crazy but I find the exposure info printed between the frames so... PRO ) for less than 50 EUR wasn't successful so it left me with no choice...

I have had a couple buyers use the latch kit on the N80.

F80 are getting harder to find. Last spring I looked for one but wound up spending only a few dollars more and got a second F100.
