Yes, but you are not a first year university student who is taking Photo as an elective and have the photographic aptitude of a fruit fly. You know, like this guy. (He also brought C-41 film to the first three work sessions of class, he barely had any work for critique)

Okay, pre-wash film for 2 min with water . . .

Wait, am I supposed to pre-wash? I really should be supervised while doing this stuff. Or at least while learning. Analog knowledge by Google, look what it's done.

I never pre-wash.

I spool the film, put it in the tank, then..

1) Develop - I use the massive dev chart over at digital truth (if you have an ipod touch or iphone you can get the massive dev chart app for 6.00 which also acts as a timer)
2) Stop Bath
3) Fix
4) Hypo Clear
5) Water Wash under running water for about 6-7 mins just to be sure
6) Photoflo
7) Hang to dry.

I hardly ever have any problems with my negatives.

One other tip, if you are using a patterson tank, I usually either try to wait until I have 2 35mm rolls and develop them both at the same time or if I really need a roll developed, like on a deadline or something, I put an empty roll in on top of the 35mm roll so I am sure it is all the way to the bottom and the chemistry will adequately cover it.

I don't know what kinda tank I have. My guy just sold me a plastic tank and reels, but for 120, I don't think the other reel will fit.

You can use Water for Stop Bath. It just takes longer.. alot longer in fact. Also Hypo Clear is not required, just make sure to rinse for a minimum of 10 minutes. If you look at the bottom of the tank, it should tell you what type of tank it is. Also, your plastic reels might be adjustable for different film sizes.

In other words, you aren't screwed.

I have always used Hypoclear, I live just South of you North of Seattle, the water in the Northwest is so clean I have probably wasted a huge amount of time on HC in the past.

A while back I had a bunch of rolls to develop so I got out an older stainless steel tank, lid and cap, everything went fine, development etc. but I picked it up before the fix by the top but only got a hold of the lid which slipped right off. I slammed it back on but the top roll of the two roll tank of film got exposed on the edge ruining the roll. These things happen, hopefully not too often.

I like. Especially the second ("I eat people") for reasons that keep seeming just at the edge of the desk, until I look to try to find a good phrasing.
