Very nice! It's not a pinhole shot, is it? Since the bottom of the tree trunk is outside the DOF. Did you use an old style camera with a soft lens?

Here is another one!

Thanks! It's shot with a rolleicord IV on tri-x @800

I think I the softness also comes from my scanning method, still need to tweak my DSLR scanning setup. It's hard to get sharpness all over the negative.
Im trying to find a tall lens hood for my canon fd 50 mm macro lens so I can put my camera on top of the negative but no luck yet.

Maybe you can just make a frame of black or grey cardboard to hold the negative? Makes photographing it with a DSLR easier.

I put a piece of glass on the negative so the negative is flat, I just need to find an easy way to get the camera completely leveled with the negative.

I can't really afford a enlarger stand nor do I have any space for it.
This will do for now. Thinking of 3d print a custom lens hood for this purpose though

Fomapan100-Woca-012-web.jpg

There are many 2's in this:

* Yesterday I shot and developed a test roll film on the same day (unique for me).
* It's the first time I developed a Fomapan 100 and the first time I used Caffenol as a developer as well.
(See also: (there was a url link here which no longer exists))
* It's an (unintended) double exposure. I saw some artefacts in the negative I didn't understand, until I scanned it. Can you find the faint horse?
* We have two Devon & Cornwall longwool sheep. This is a combination of two British sheep races, the Devon sheep and the Cornwall sheep. One race was kept for wool, the other for meat. Due to recession the two breeds were crossed, hence the Devon & Cornwall sheep: one of the most friendly sheep races I've ever met. Our second sheep is also in there (lying on the left).

Here is an other shot (with light leaks) of the same roll with both sheep on it:

Nices ones Bert! I really like the portrait of the first one -- he looks almost dignified, not something I usually associate with sheep (I used to work with Border Leicester sheep at the museum I worked at in Toronto -- their wool was nice for spinning, but they definitely were not the smartest or most dignified of the farm animals we kept there!).

Two of Two:

This is a cross-eye stereogram - step back and cross your eyes slightly until three images appear, then focus on the middle one. You should have a 3D view of my old C220.

Shot on Reala with an RZ67, a floppy macro rail, 140 M-LA and bounced strobe. The scan colour is a bit uneven but it doesn't seem to affect the 3D effect.

All I get is one big camera with four lenses ... (yes, I need new glasses).

But seriously, great contribution to this MSA.

Double shoot 2X Bert from Holland en 2X Bronica

Bertus said:
OK, lets do that: what about in this mirror in museumboerderij Gagelgat, Birkstraat 107, Soest, (mon-sat 11.00 to 15.00 h I can be there, so just say a date and hour...:D)http://www.bmellaart.nl/galerie/deta...p?image_id=534? (my last modelshoot)

I can't wait to see 2Bert!

Finally, the "Bertus Bronica Brothers" from Holland (a.k.a. 2Bert a.k.a. SquareBert) will meet this Wednesday for a double date to tinker up a contribution for this MSA. It might involve mirrors, horses, an old farmhouse, two Bronica SQ cameras and even a nice lunch ....

(It will be the first time I will actually meet an APUG-er in an analogue way, instead of here on the forum!)

Pizza guys! My favorite kind of people .
And they still use a wood burning stone oven, even better!

This is actually a brand-new restaurant - they've been open for two months. Wood-fired pizza is becoming very popular here and lots of places are doing it. There are two now within a six block radius of my house!

Namesake of the town of Two Rock, California:
tworock.jpg

Ancient Native American Landmark along the trail from Bodega Bay to the California Central Valley and the Sierra Nevada. The trail was later used by Californios. In 1846, Freemont and Kit Carson galloped along the trail between the two rocks. Now the site of a town called Two Rock.

Short History of Two Rock

I dislike power lines, and made several exposures with a long lens to exclude them, but Two Rock is much more about the wide open landscape than the rocks themselves. At least there are two power poles!

As usual, my scan is not very good.. this looks much sharper in hand, and there is some nice fine grain but here we are seeing mostly paper texture. It's quite close to a straight print, but I worked on subtle details for quite a while and am happy with it.

Just a snapshot but it means something to me. I buried my little buddy (old pug) two weeks ago between these two oak trees.

Twoberts from Holland with two Bronicas

And here they are: the two Berts from Holland, both shooting a Bronica in square format.
All images are shot with my Bronica SQ-B, 40mm 1:4 Zenzanon-S lens on Ilford FP4+ developed in Caffenol-C-M for 14 minutes.
(BTW: this was my second roll in Caffenol ;-)

We went to an old farm in Soest, The Netherlands, It dates back to 1712 and was completely restored two years ago in 2012. It is called: "Het Gagelgat".

Our most serious MSA-entry: a genuine shoot-out simultaneously on two toilets (Bert uses a SQ-A and Bert uses a SQ-B):

Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-008-APUG-web.jpg (exposure: two seconds)

But before it came to that, we just sat down and had a quiet little talk about our options:

Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-002-APUG-web.jpg (exposure 1/2 second)

We decided to get our portrait twice, while using the antique mirror for a second view:

Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-005-APUG-web.jpg Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-006-APUG-web.jpg
(1/2 second exposure) -------- (1/4 second exposure)

We both met a fellow APUG member for the first time live and we both had a nice afternoon. It was a pity it was raining all day, for we intended to go out and shoot some horses outside in the meadow. It is also a pension for very old horses, giving them a second live.

After getting some special wine, honey and marmelade from the farm store, we both packed up our gear to go home.
But first I made a second tour through the farm to shoot some snapshots with my Bronica-SQ-B and the 40 mm lens, I used this lens for the first time this day:

Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-001-web.jpg (the store) Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-011-web.jpg (the kitchen) Ilford-FP4-SQ_B-012-web.jpg (the attic)

Thanks for a nice day, Bert! you're welcome, Bert!

Maybe an idea to put the first two in the MSA gallery plus the tekst?
