One last one (I promise! I was just having a field day up in Toronto and wasn't even really looking for things in twos - they just happened. Maybe I should call it TWOronto??).

Scott:

Locals pronounce the city's name like "Torawna"

So I would suggest "Two-rawna".

I was born there but haven't lived there for a half century or so.

Just we two

My apologies because this did not come out as I had hoped, but I caught this shot last weekend at the Los Angeles County Fair.
I'll try to come up with something better later. (the digital version of this one came out great. Darn!)img114.jpg

Nice one Scott! I certainly don't think there's any limit to the number of submissions, other than what you impose on yourself.

I know I'm being picky and I doubt any MSAers will agree with me, but I liked it better when all the entries were posted in the Gallery and not some in the thread. It takes so long to scroll through all the text in the thread looking for the images. In the Gallery you can see right away, side by side, what has been submitted. Easier on the Judge as well I would think.:pouty:

I agree, Barbara Ann, that it's much easier to look at the entries in the gallery. It's only open to subscribers though. We get entries from members, who can only post to the thread.

(PS - being a subscriber is cheap, helps keep this site up and running, and access to the gallery is priceless.)

I like both: an overview in the gallery and a post here with the information about what, how, why, ...

I thought Sean made it so that non-subscribers could post to the MSA gallery only?

I post here because often my images are meant to be viewed large and don't have the intended effect in the tiny limited size of the APUG gallery. And now that I'm shooting a lot of 8x10 I have to DOWNSIZE the image just to fit lol.

The subscription isn't much, like $25 per year? I usually just sell something in the FS thread as FS toward APUG subscription and someone else pays my subscription plus shipping the item.

Been thinking of images to shoot, I'm very busy these days, but will try to submit more than one piece, I will be posting one that's kind of a joke (even if it fits the theme) and one serious one if I can find the time to shoot/print it!

Correct me if I am in error, but can't all that information be posted under Description /Information in the Gallery?

Yes, we could, but it is so much easier to read and comment as a group in this thread than in the Gallery itself.

These aren't entries, I'm just playing around with Sebattier and macro pinhole paper negatives.

This is the full 5x7 paper from September 8th, "My 2 Cents":

2c.jpg

Today I tried to use a mirror to un-reverse the image, and a Susan B. Anthony dollar coin. The image came out too small, and the mirror caused way more loss of detail than I expected. This is a crop of about 1/3 of the 5x7 paper. Double exposed to get "2 Sides of the Same Coin":

If I manage to make a better one I'll submit it, but I've got other things going on for this MSA. This just finished drying and I felt like sharing what I'm playing with!

We had a glorious sky here today and I was waiting for some clouds for one of my ideas. I went and made a few exposures. A fellow was discing his field with a big tractor and came right by me with a huge cloud of dust. I took my camera off the tripod, put on the lens cap, and held it under my tee-shirt while I got covered in gritty dust. The fellow waved and honestly I wasn't even slightly annoyed, I just waved back and felt happy and fortunate that I live in a place with friendly folks. No harm done.

Even if they aren't "official" entries, I still really like the idea and execution behind them Ned!

Two of Mine

IMG_20140915_0004.jpg
This is from one of my first rolls after I dug out my film gear. 10 year old Tri-X fogged pretty badly.

It's a pain to print this since the faces were underexposed and backlit, and the fog further reduced the contrast. The grain is pretty chunky too, which was like meeting an old friend after years of shooting digital.

Inside Outside

Trying to look at "2" a little differently. Lith print of TLR neg. image taken at the Fisgard lighthouse, when I wandered away from a car show close by.

This thread has been pretty quiet. Here's an unofficial entry - a shot of my sister and I, taken by my brother in law.

Nice one sly! Not only is it a nice portrait of the two of you, it fits the "two" theme in multiple ways.
