This suggests that by reading what conflict-driven personalities say that you somehow have the power to constrain their speaking of objectionable thoughts?? I don't think so!
Argue against what you find objectionable.
I've have found doing this to be a PITA for this site, its membership and management. For whatever reasonArgue against what you find objectionable.

arguing with strangers
I always used to advise clients that arguing with police officers was the most pointless activity possible.I've found it to be true that arguing with strangers on the Internet is the most pointless activity possible.
the problem is when that happens and they have no evidence they start name calling, riffing and making stuff up.When you've made your case, you can ignore any unsubstantiated postulating or, as @jnantz said, "winging" - you don't need to argue past the point of saying, "Give evidence," to anyone making unfounded claims.
name calling
Yes. But at least they still don't have any evidence to back up their unsubstantiated claim. Name calling is not part of an argument.
Every bit of unchallenged misinformation has the same power as thoroughly proven truth.

There are 7,800,000,000 people on the planet, most of whom are wrong, and only 24 hours in a day, so you have to pick your battles.
All people are right about most things. Everyone is wrong sometimes.

Blocking is for sissies.
No... Kodachrome. Is any of this about....Leicas?
couldn't agree with you more. While you are not wrong in these statements, if you approach ANY web forum with the idea that substantiated facts are going to satisfy those who thrive on conflict, and displace misinformation 100% of the time, then you are misunderstanding the core nature of internet discussion forums. This forum is certainly no exception. Too often, facts have little to do with anything.
you are woefully misinformed this is about lomography and holgasNo... Kodachrome.

I was in a Leica store once and a sales person approached me (I had a camera bag) and asked if I had a Leica. I pulled out my Leica with a Zeiss lens on it and got a dirty look, sort of "shame on you!"I visited the Lisbon (Portugal) Leica Store and was taking a look at the shelves of film cameras (that every Leica Shop I’ve ever visited has).
A salesman came and asked me if I needed something. I told him I was just taking a look at the beautiful cameras that, unfortunately, I couldn’t afford at the moment.
Then, he asked if I was a photographer. I confirmed and told him I was even carrying two Nikons in my bag at that moment. He told me to keep them in the bag, so they wouldn’t be embarrassed by all the Leicas around them.
I left the store as soon as I could.
