i have been shooting lf for a little while now
and i have a problem
aside from my ground glass being broken
( it has the image backwards and upside down )
i am not getting the quality of image i want.
i like using a leica and a 50 sumawhatever
and a pen ft and i am trying
to get my lf images to look like these other cameras took the photos.
i have done alot of different things to try to achieve this ..
processed my film in a variety of developers
xtol, dk50' dektol, ansxo 130, sprint, coffee, alone and with other additives,
and a handful of other stuff .. like monos
ive done deep tank/ hangers, trays, taco, stand, trays, rollers buckets too
but they dont do it ...
i have a darkroom and might use it if i have to
but if i dont have to i dont mind
my only constraints are it cant be with exotic chemicals
just normal stuff, and it cant take too long to do ..
i have a serious habit to feed ( film and paper )
and i need some help.

im working on a binocilar reflex viewer to make my prints right side up
the problem i had before wasnt really remedied
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

thanks in advance

You need to have a cup of coffee, John. It's not just for developer anymore, you know.

i did whitey !
and after drinking the brew i realized that if i could somehow pull it off,
make my results perfectly unlarge it would be helpful.
luckily i didnt drink the sumatra, i might have oxidiEd
and that would just be bad ... i have plenty of density from over agitation already

Most educational. This intriguing post has a metrical timbre that ebbs and flows like a melancholy poem from Alan Edgar Poe. What is wrong, John??

Yes! Before I did this, my Brownie Hawkeye was taking pictures that looked like they were snapped by my grandmother back in 1955. One lens flip was all it took to bring my photography to the 21st century!

I'd concentrate on that binocilar reflex viewer... or your agitation technique... or maybe you should get it right in the camera to start with... :sideways:

Actually, you should probably just do what Whitey said.

i did that first then I was upside down, its tough on the ceiling.
im trupuing to get golfball sized grain, and contrast but not too much
i want to see the whites of their eyes
when i enlarge the 4x5 or 8x10 or bigger film / paper negatives to 3x their native zize
and reduced down to 1/4 their native zise ..
thanks though
my toes hurt

i have the right camera.
i was taught on theblog of blogs
( you know the one ) that the larger the film area the better

the viewer is coming along, but i have to mail awy for german glass
the local optician suggested which diopters i should use to help previsualize
my reduction enlargement scheme
but it takes a while to get the glass ground down to a bifocal ...

id do what whitey said 2nite, but i cant watch reo chuckwagon videos while i agitate, and im
cause they have a viral backbeat i use to help me keep time
my metronome broke

I've got it!!! That sideways smiley guy I used gave me an idea...

Turn your view camera on it's side into vertical position (don't just rotate the back, the lens has to turn sideways too) that way the image is halfway corrected. Then just stand to the opposite side and you only have to look at the groundglass with your head turned sideways and the image will be corrected. You're welcome. :sideways:

maybe thatll werk
i already put a 400 euro down payment/ deposit down on the diopters though
but your suggestions cant help my current problem,
grain, and contrast with excessively large and small final images.
i can get one but not the other ..
im going to use spinich and turnips tonight and see what happens
