The garden can help. If no metronome, get a garden gnome.

Metronomes are overrated. Anyone who's been to Nome knows there's not much metro to it.

i used gnomes once but they ate all my developer
and made a mess of my processing space ...
next time i'll put a diaper on him...

the pepto i used lastnight ...
i did stand dev in the refrigerator,
(unscrewed the bulb in case it doesnt shut off when the door closes)
and the film looks a bit dense, ill see if it does the electric dance
in a little while after it washes ...
it reminds me of my pink prints when printing in chinese amidol

i just got a PM
"make a honeycomb grid, you will have lots of little photos instead of one big one"
thanks .. i thought about that .. but i need to retain the integrity of my large format film instead of postage stamps besides why shoot lots of smalls when
you can shoot really big and reduce down ... or enlarge big...
grain gamma intensity translucency contrast ... is what i need, not tonality

i heard back from germany last night,
cant afford their handywork afterall ...
gravity boots are like a cheap alternative

John, you might be interested in the the 4-bath process I'm working on.

does,ot involve powdered milk?
i just read about a lactose based developer that might be good
luckily my film isnt intolerant
and i gotta keep that stuff away from the gnome
the place smelled bad enuf after the shallots ...
thankfully i have saurkraut fermenting and masking one evil smell for another

Damn it. I knew I shouldn't have told you about the 3-bath process I'd been working on!

John, as we are now past page 3 of the thread, it is time to change the parameters of your initial query!

dude

you need to have some sympathy for my cause
i have a real need to get my panchromatic, full tonality negatives to look
like i shot them with my buddy down the street's minox.
his work has so much emotion, grain, texture ( both literal and figurative )
i take the same photos as him sometimes with my 8x10
and they look blaaaaa .. too much tonality, like an azo+amidol print,
3d, grainless yuck
maybe its my shoes, any suggestions?
if i heightened maybe my work will be better,
he's about 6 and change, and i was about that tall when my work was so-so, just before the house fell on me
and i was in the iron lung
i worked remotely for a while, it was ok but a pain in the neck
with all those mirrors and smoke

Obviously John the film you are using is all wrong, I've been telling you for years. It's far too clinical, I've seen it hanging around the clinic myself. What you need to do is convince Kodak to bring back Royal-X pan in sheets, now that was a non-clinical film! In fact it never got sick, not even a cold. Amazing grainishness, and bokeh for miles. I have a buddy who knows a guy who knows a guy at Kodak, I'll give you his email. Start an online petition because those totally work. I bet they will even name the film after you : Royal Pain Plus! That would be sweeeet.

good points erik,
yeah the clinic is crowded these days
so royal will have bookay?
i have some and used it a
little, maybe it was when the royals were exiled the grains were a but muddy
but that was when u was using burnt toast as my developer.
cool name though royal pain plus, has a nice ring to it

Try an inversion table to view the GG.
Then either do shots from a low level or put the inversion thingy on you're dining room table to raise it..It amay be a bit bulky but workable.

thanks for the suggestion
can i get a chiropractic adjustment at the same time ?
maybe the endorphine- rush will help with the enlargement / reduction problem ?
maybe use a minox to photograph large negatives?
im thinking of falling off the rodinal waggon but there are like 40 different versions
would the stuff made to be like the developer from 1938, mixed with the new stuff that
was just released mixed with ro9 1:30 semistand and then shuffle process finished
give me the grain and contrast i need or should i mix it with tea? ( mint tea?)
last tike i was given pyro to use i nearly burned down my space, i thought you wasnt
supposed to play with fire?

someone just pm'ed me
and said if i take the front half of my wollensak 1a and have an adapter made at grimes or whever i go
and mate it with my 90mm super angulon's rear half it will fix my problem
has anyone done this?

will the groups play nice or will my german glass make my rochester glass feel inferior
and make everything either out of focus or excessively sharp?

any input would be helpful...

could my problem be with my darkcloth, its not too dark anymore

You just answered your own question. Let me send you a PM, so that you can publish what I just told you.

can you send it to me too? that way I'll know which post it is when you post it

also the white side of the dark cloth goes on the outside unless you need more light

What do you mean? Isn't the dark cloth for covering the lens?

only when my shutter is not working properly or I want a nice dreamy look

No, you put the mosquito netting over the lens when you want dreamy. that way the mosquitos attack the lens. Then you put the darkcloth over your own head and it leaves you to look like you're having a good night's sleep dreaming.

whew im glad im sorta doing it right ...
a few years ago when i bought my entry lf camera, an ebrony 14x11.
i thought i was supposed to get dark sloth.
already broke from my 8000$$ camera i had to borrow it from the local zoo,
and it was too lazy to help me,
i figured it was supposed to carry my gear
luckily i was told by a friend dark cloth.. much cheaper and no scratches
the camera was a total waste of effert, the image on that one was upside down too.
you would figure a camera that cost that much would have a right side up image ...

chris
are you on level 3?
it gets better after you load the film..

an email this time
they say the way i was told about the lens was backwards.. backwolly front schneider ... but the rochester glass is from the wrong era and might
mess with the german glass .. pre war us glass and all ..

im going to contact a machinist for a qpte, hopefully its less than the bino viewer they only gave me back half my $
