Yes, it's disturbing to see kids operating these curtain coaters. And how will they manage 15 to 20 layers if they're operated by kids? Child labor is not only unethical, it is also risky.

I hear the most complaints about child labor from women for some reason.

When they announced it, they said Q4 2017.
Just have a look at Ferrania - so you will have a precedent.( Ferrania anounced a new E6 film on basis of the well known Ferraniachrome technology, came behind scedule, and presented a bw film as and interims stage) ....hope we will see a new "chrome 100" in the future???
If you may like to see this as a parallel to The Kodak E6 Initiative you must conclude that Kodak did a great job at the speed of light!
No worry and no single doubt about please : IT WILL COME SOON !
with special greatings

Not sure if this old news, but my local lab has had product codes through for ordering Ektachrome (but no price point yet). They seem to think August/September for what it's worth. My other local lab has started listing it on their website*, again no price point yet.

* - Edit - Who now have said they processed a 5ft length of Ektachrome with a Kodak rep in attendance this week. I've gone from pessimistic to believing it'll come when they're ready

I think it will come, how long it stays is another question.Really hope it happens. Kodak (Eastman and Alaris) seem to view film as long term product.

Who is this lab? A quick google shows nothing using the terms I tried.

i read somewhere they are reintroducing kodachrome soon can't remember where i saw it,
is it true ?

Then in my mind for that matter they are unlikely to care whether it's Ektachrome or Kodachrome either, so long as it's film.
Come on. Kodak comes out with Kodachrome magazine dedicated to analog hipsters. All the kids I know shoot Tri-X, it's great film, but Tmax films blow me away. They shoot Tri-X because that's what is old school, Bob Dillion analog vinyl cool. And it is.

As long as we can dream. I want real Kodachrome in 120, processed by Kodak and mounted 6x6 slides for my Kindermann projector.

The Kodachrome trademark has value. I have never heard anybody singing "Mama don't take my FujiChrome Velvia RVP 50 away".

As an actual film there are real issues, especially to the hipster and new photographer crowd - one of the most pressing to new users is that it is more difficult to scan, in addition to complexities in manufacturing and development. My concern is that at some point the Kodachrome trademark will be bought by a Lupus Imaging type entity which will rebrand some old E-6 film found in a warehouse as Kodachrome.

Although I miss the film, I remind myself that I last shot a roll in January 1982. To be honest, most of my Kodachrome emotion is related to the loss of an era, not the loss of an emulsion - it was the film of my youth. I wonder if many of the Kodachrome revivalists have the same motivation.

I guess if Kodak wants they can sell any film and call them Kodachrome. That is even a B&W or negative film they can still sell and call it Kodachrome I think.
