Kodak Medalist I & II - Color Rendition

On another note, if I might bother you all some more... the camera came without a lens cap (or case). My thought was to buy a lens hood and then find a plastic push-on cap that covers that; I'll also grab some series VI filters as well. However, when I look search for "Kodak Series VI Lens hood" I see a lot that look like they screw into a sort of adapter ring that then is push-on... guess my question is what model/style screws directly in in place of the retaining ring that is on there?

On my Medalist II, the Series VI hood screws directly onto the Ektar lens filter thread. It's a direct fit and you don't need any push-on adapter.

And you can sandwich a Series VI filter in between the hood and lens filter thread.

There are two screws at the bottom inside the feed spool chamber that secure the bracket that holds the bottom end of the roller in place. Need a long skinny screwdriver most likely. Loosen then snug lightly, nudge the roller around, tighten. And again, eye using the metal film rails, not the black strip that is the film chamber wall.

The front of the lens is threaded Series VI. No adapters needed. So a Series VI hood goes in, and captures a Series VI filter at the same time. If you want to stack more than one filter, there are Series VI adapters that have threading on the front.

Filter Find is good for these type of filters. And Blue Moon Camera. Look at the 'Series VI adapter' section of Filter Find, the lens hood called 'E' is the standard that works well. Tim has a few of them. Then in the Series VI filter section he has... you guessed it, filters!

Ask Tim if he has a lens cap that will fit the Kodak hood. The plain Series VI threading, no retaining ring or hood in place, can use a center-pinch 46mm lens cap.

If you don't want to go the Series VI route, I use a 44-49mm step up ring on my Medalist I, allows me to use more modern filters.

I actually got a very fair deal from Tim at filter find for a set, probably more than I'll ever need to be fair, but thanks Chrismat.

Nice shots Outwest... I'm moving back home to the mountains of Colorado in the fall and that was part of the motivation to grab the medalist ii... figuring 6x9 is the right format for those vistas... and I'm getting old enough that I don't want to haul a large format kit up those hills.
