"contains material for 100 negatives"

Now that's a Lonnnng roll.
Remember, the original Kodak camera had to be sent back to Kodak to have the film developed. The camera and the negatives and prints were then returned, with the camera loaded with new film.

I'm not sure if this is the type. To my understanding the first "film" was simply an emulsion coated onto black paper. The developed negatives required the women operators to float the emulsion off the paper and transfer it to a glass plate for printing.
This is before old George had laid out his long glass tables for casting cellulose nitrate, to produce what we not think of negative film.
Crazy high tech. Film production still absolutely amazes me. Kodak was as high tech as there was. Still is, just not as well known.

Oh I don't think this is the same as the original.
I made the reference because it helps to show how the "normal" has changed over time.
If people were used to keeping the camera for 100 photographs and then having to ship it away and wait before it was returned, then being able to buy film for those 100 photographs and load it themselves would have seemed to be a great improvement.
I wonder what those people would have thought if they had seen me yesterday, alternating between two bodies while I exposed two rolls of slide film at essentially the same time.

What's the point of bringing back Kodachrome. Everyone knows that the Kodachrome sheet film formula was the best. It was never the same after the boys in Rochester came out with the ultra high speed Kodachrome II ASA 25. I want the original ASA 10 (Daylight) or nothing.

Hrrruupfff ! ! ! !

NAKT, Not another Kodachrome thread.

AAAAAK. I hope not. Nor one on PX or PA.

PE

That's seams to be a dilemma PE - you perhaps are THE person with most remaining influence
to EK's todays decicion makers!
What about you call them and set them a bit under presure? This thread could be a first step!
Kodak Alaris for sale!......hmm?

It could be so easy PE - influence them to bring out new Kodachrome with the rest of money
in stock!!! And if we can order Kodachrome again we don't have the need to talk about a Kodachrome in a new thread! Is that a deal or is that a deal?:D!

with regards

PS : But hurry up......:whistling:

To be clear on this again. I have no contact with or influence with Kodak decision makers. None whatsoever.

It has been nearly 20 years since I have been on Kodak property other than to see a building demolished from a parking lot.

Sorry.

Hope you did not louse humor PE when Trendland would state : I don't belive that:wink:!

with greetings:cool:

PS : Some here have stated speculation about you're still working on Kodachrome!
And after I stated that Kodak Alaris isn't for sale this thread can't find an end?

SO A REMAINING QUESTION/SECULATION IS : WILL YOU BE THE NEW OWNER OF KODAK ALARIS!

PS : Seriously:smile: ...hope stock can find its way up next and some here find back there way from
serious sarcasm about inability of EK to make it better these days - to a sight of more humor!
At last everything will be fine [also without Kodachrome...].

Would be awesome to see Kodachrome again.
Anyway, at least they have bought back Ektachrome and its results are looking very good.

The results, yes, but what about the sales?

That's pretty sobering stuff, even with the increase in film demand.

The next person who starts crying for Kodachrome should have this report shoved in their laps.

Better buy and enjoy what is being produced now and hope for a more stable future.
Exactly. The situation with Kodak still camera film is profit is needed by TWO companies.
EK needs to buy back the still film business, but of course EK isn't making money either. This may explain the backlog of orders for consumer color negative film, If EK can sell cinema Ektachrome in 8,16, and 35mm.
Sobering indeed.

No.
The backorders are caused by the stronger than expected recent demand for Kodak photo films. See my short report / posting and the current thread about that topic.

Henning
