In that case, you need to add the first two steps. As a chemistry for the first, you could try two tablespoons of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) - probably not as effective as Kodak recommends, but it will do the trick.

I'm doing pre-soak all the time for C41 film in Bellini kit. The reason is that I want to make sure the tank and film are around 100F when I pour in the color developers so the temperature and time will be correct.

In conclusion, I ignored Bellini's instruction of "no pre-soak" with no ill effect for over one year now.

Baking soda for the win

See, now That is what I wanted to hear

Hydrogen Peroxide bottles are brown, plastic, available in small to large sizes, including convenient one liter bottle.

The pours are average but they are good quality and can be had inexpensively, with H²O², a good bathroom cleaner.

Thanks  I hadn't considered the pour speed. I will be using a glass bottle with a pretty standard neck, will this be an issue?

Bellini c41 kit ordered. Thanks again for all the brilliant help

I was watching a video in which the guy prewashed before using the Bellini. He added 45secs to the dev. Is that necessary? Or just more YouTube b***ox?

That's a massive increase that constitutes about a 1.5 stop push it so. As virtually always, it'll produce an I age and it'll scan OK, but the color balance will shift, crossover increases and so does granularity. There's no good reason to do this the way I see it.

It did seem a huge amount. I will follow the no prewash instructions for my first couple of films but then film 3 will be Vision3 which will have had an industrious shaking in a baking soda solution, pluss a few rinses to get rid of the remjet, all pre developing. Should be fun

I bought a Bellini kit and I am impressed. I stored the dev in a brown bottle which was a problem as it took 15seconds to fill the Paterson tank. The dev is now in a Kilner sealable jar with a nice, wide opening, good for pouring....and marbles. So, film 1 didn't go straight. It looks like it had been poorly stored and was fairly nasty. Film 2 was Harman Phoenix. Fill time was OK as its a single tank. The dev itself was really easy. I scan with a DSLR and process in lightroom by flipping the tone curve. That is all I did with these images. For a first attempt, I am pretty chuffed. Thanks for all the brilliant advice.
