Is the K factor relevant to me or should I cancel it out?

I am referring to:
Connelly, D. (1968): "Calibration Levels of Films and Exposure Devices," The Journal of Photographic Science, Vol. 16, p. 185-193

I found a copy through google hosted on APUG (the very 1st search result).

Anyway, I'm typesetting the whole thing (on LaTeX) for myself - that way I can read it without squinting my eyes on my mobile device. If anyone is interested, pm me.

You'll find a freshly typeset copy of CONNELLY (TJPS, 1968) on Google drive. The text identical with a slightly different referencing technique. I was bored!

Brings tears to my eyes, it's a beautiful typesetting job and makes the material easier to read.

For fun, I followed along with my new Weston Master III - in CONNELLEY, following formula (17)... he mentions the sunny 16 conditions are 250 to 300 candles per square foot. So I dialed in ASA 400, set the arrow at 250 candles per square foot (It's the mark after 200. To find the unmarked light scale values, I found a picture of a Weston Model 650 which labels every light value... the missing parts of the Weston light scale sequence that I need include... 80, [100], 130, 160, [200], 250, 320, [400], 500).

This aligned 1/400 shutter speed with f/16

Interesting note, this meter is marked ASA - K = 1.0 on the back.
