In this case, have your butler prepare a fresh pot.

Steve.

Wait -- the butler makes the tea? Then what's the 2nd cook supposed to be doing? Darn, I've been having it done wrong all this time... :D

We currently favour white text on black ......
Any chance of offering two options: black on white/ white on black?

Black shirts are too hot to wear here in the tropics...

Ilford will get some great mileage from this t-shirt idea - plenty of walking, talking advertisements.

Also, I'd much prefer black text on white. Is there any reason why both Black on White and White on Black couldn't be made up?

regards
Peter

I hope that Ilford realizes what a valuable return they will get on this effort. I predict that people will ask me about Ilford every time that I wear the shirt, and I shall be only to happy to tell them about the company. And if Ilford starts making 220 again, I shall do my best to see that Simon is beatified!

Ok. Cool. But, do I like HP-5 (wrong, tri-x wins) or do I like Ilford paper (yuppers, Ilford matte warm tone (out of the freezer) wins)? OK, how about "I use ilford photoproducts ... and, have a darkroom... smile"

If Ilford decided to release shirts and coffee mugs for individual products, one at a time, many people would try to collect the set. This year, the shirt could say Ilford hp5+. Next year it could be fp4+, or Multigrade paper, or whatever. I would look forward to seeing the new design come out each year (or more often, if it's not too much trouble). Concerning coffee mugs, for people in the U.S., the easiest way to handle the situation would be to give the design to cafepress or some other web operation where people could order the mugs themselves.

It's too bad that photos would not reproduce very well on tee shirts--otherwise, photo contest winners could go on the shirts (as with the current hp5+ contest). Or am I wrong about the possibility of decent reproduction?

Another thought. If the hp5+ contest winning photograph were released on a poster of modest size, with a caption along the lines of "Image made by so-and-so on Ilford hp5+" would photo dealers display the poster, or would Ilford be wasting their money by giving the poster away to the stores? That might get the Ilford name in front of a lot of people, and let's face it--Ilford spends very little on advertising, so the publicity would do them good. I take for granted that the winning photo will be put into an advertisement in a few of the leading photo magazines--especially the ones which have not gone digital.

I wouldn't object to an Ilford shirt or mug, but it would be kind of hypocritical, given that I remain a lifelong Kodak user (although when the Polymax runs out, I've stock in hand of Ilford MGIV).

I do support Ilford, by recommending them.

What I'd really like to see is a shirt or mug with each of Ilford, Kodak and Fuji's logos on it, and a well funded advertising campaign with it, extolling the virtues of film and photographic paper.

One can dream...

Matt

Well ... as my stock of Forte Elegance runs out, I am remembering the wonderful luck I had with Galerie (at 2Xthe$$) and am thinking it is time to go back to the brittle byarta with the luxury blacks. I also find myself using a lot more FP4+ these days, almost ignoring my first love (Tri-X) due to the better expansion FP4+ offers. I may unintentionally become an Ilford guy after all ..... Of course, with Maco offering films to test for free .... maybe a t-shirt with every $100 purchase of Ilford products would be good for them and good for me .... (ok - I am a marketing guy as well)

count me in for a few XXL t-shirts, w text on b definitely

Nothing wrong with promoting the other team. After all, you are a fan of the game.

Fintan,

As one with similar proportions; perhaps it would be best if we kept our size requirements confidential with Ilford? :D

Oh, I'd like both W on B and B on W - since I'm kind of positve and negative on this endeavor!

... well - I am not sure a delta mug or shirt would interest me- maybe the D3200 but the ones you mentioned would be fine.

A collection of Ilford cups at work would be nice. Pan F, FP4, HP5...

How about an Ilford T-shirt with basic developing instructions on the back? That would be pretty neat!

Okay, a black Tee with white would be great, sign me up.

well my excuse is im 6'6" and might occasionally need the t-shirt as a darkcloth :D:D

Yeah, and an Ilford kilt too! That will show who the real men are.

I'm assuming that the tartan would be in black and white...!

Only just found this thread. Strange coincidence, but as I unwrapped a roll of HP5 the other day I thought "An Ilford t-shirt, I would buy one". Ideas that came to mind were an HP5 35mm film canister or something that resembled the carton packaging (but v. simple). Surely a white t-shirt would fit in with the current film packaging look, even though TBH I prefer the old FP4/HP5 colourscheme.

A mug would be good too, I could drink my freshly-ground coffee and smile.

I don't normally like to pay to be walking advertisement hoarding but this isn't quite the same as having 'Hilfiger' or 'Reebok' across my chest.

Simon, is there any update on this? Can't wait to purchase the shirt!
