Dear Film guy...et al,

Yes there is...we have chosen what we would like, based on the feedback, ILFORD Photo, white on black, embroidered not screen printed, a polo shirt and a rugby shirt. 'Less is more' according to the fashionistas at ILFORD Photo / HARMAN who are helping me sort this out...

Regards

Simon.

We await pricing etc, I will update a soon as I can.

Sorry to hear that Simon. Count me as one that really and truly wished for a T-SHIRT.

I'll end up taking a pass on these offerings, I'm afraid. I think your fashionistas overthunk this. I don't wan't to look like an Ilford sales rep.

You'd better make them in American sizes, for those of us who are 6'3" and a little pudgy.

Polo shirt. Short sleeve, 2-3 button neck with collar, made from cotton knit or blend.

Rugby shirts are generally long sleeved, with 3 button neck with collar. They often have a different sleeve yoke (?). where the sleeve is continued on at an angle to the neck opposed to a sleeve that ends at the shoulder.

That's funny. I don't know what a polo shirt is.
Bill

I imagine you have a few in your closet and don't realize it - think Izod or Ralph Lauren.

Embroidered means "Ilford Photo" will be small print - likely over the left breast. Similar to Mr. Lauren's classic "man on horse with polo mallet".

How about an Ilford shop at their website where we can buy all sorts of different Ilford-logo items? As long as Ilford doesn't actually lose money on the goods, it's worth a little time and trouble to them to get free publicity. Then we could have the shirts, the mugs, camera straps and whatever else Ilford cared to offer. I still like the idea of having designs for specific products, such as an fp4+ shirt or an hp5+ mug. I suppose a camera strap might just say "Ilford."

There's tons of golfers who wear polo shirts with Nike, Addidas or Ping embroidered logos, and I don't think anyone mistook them for sales reps for those companies.

That's a shame. I would have bought a black on white design. I can't stand black shirts of any design, too damn hot in summer.

I have it on good authority that summer will be the first three days in August this year...

Actually, not sure about black Polo-shirts: seems an odd colour somehow for that type of shirt. A black rugby shirt is more standard of course (http://www.cottontraders.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?ProductID=122) ...

BTW, for our overseas readers, real rugby shirts as worn by players are different: shorter sleeves and different material. Fashion type shirts are based on olde style shirts as worn in the 1st half of the 1900's...

Cheers, Bob.

Being a Sarfendah I've been enjoying summer temperatures for the past three weeks or so.

True: much the same in Lunnun: it appears that global warming is making those old jokes a bit redundant...

Another Crime Against Humanity perpetrated by SUV owners!... Never mind the bl**dy ozone layer, you are ruining our jokes with your selfishness!

 *

Cheers, Bob.

* Just in case, as I did mention both G.W. and SUVs...

Shame about going towards shirts with collars. I don't understand why Ilford could not simply make their film logo designs available through some place like Cafe Press:

http://www.cafepress.com/

That way anyone who might want a T-Shirt or coffee mug could just order one. There would be no inventory to store, and only a slight amount of time getting the files onto that website (or any similar company). In theory, someone could order a T-Shirt with each film variety.

Ciao!

I'll be up for at least one polo shirt.

Any chance of coffee mugs? I'd go for quite a few of those!
