I do mostly Minolta SLRs. I'm not going to go count them because ignorance is bliss, I'll just say "a couple of dozen" and slink away...

That is all I used from 1966 to 2004.

As I am retired now, I am actively reducing the stable, and what doesn't interest me and don't need anymore, I sell it here or on Catawiki.
I only hold on my vasty and beloved Hasselblad set, and the Linhof.

No more 35mm and larger than 4"x5" format camera's.

Right now, I am mucking out the colour stuff of my darkroom, and keep what I need for B&W...
Next will be my very, very, extensive Multiblitz studio flash gear (five large flight cases full of accessories and three 3200W/s generators), and all the other (heavy-) studio equipment and a Linhof column camerastand.
Whenever I could (and afford), I bought 'Made in Germany' things...
But, enough is enough!

I now spend the money I can spare on journeys and B&W film + paper...

A short answer is - too many.

But in keeping with the original question.
Two Minoltas (XE1 and XM)
4 Nikons (F100, F80, F601 and Nikormat FT3) and my
Bronica SQa.

The F601 was the latest acquis ion that cost £5 from a charity shop and it works perfectly.

Far too many, but I will start selling them off when I retire and only keep the ones I really like; that should get it down a few dozen.

Hopefully, film camera demand will continue unabated...

Plastic Cameras
How do people with dozens of cameras keep them operational? I only have about 10-12, most are with several lenses. It is a major PITA to remember to exercise lens shutters periodically and have the right types of batteries available.
For me, the "right size" is where it's still fun, and the hassles hardly seem like hassles. Exactly what # of cameras and lenses that translates into, is still a work in progress. But at the moment, I probably got about this much, and could probably stand to trim the collection more.

As for maintenance, let's just say that I spent many pandemic hours performing CLAs.

At the moment 10:

6 work afaik
3 need service/repair,
1 has bits missing, hardly works, rusty but has family history

I think that's about my limit, have gone through many more. I seldom use them (though am in a film phase this week) + any more becomes too much of a burden. These days I try to avoid anything with batteries - have enough to contend with batteries for my digital cameras.

Not many:
* Olympus Pen FT (“neutered” - I removed the light meter and replaced the semi-silvered mirror with a full-silvered one).

*Okuhara Japanese half-plate field camera with a home-made 4x5 reducing back.

* Robot II (up for sale on that auction site).

*Olympus OM-10 (A recent gift from my brother, who was ready to thrift-shop it. I used to use a pair of OM-1’s and had another OM-10 for a while).

Film cameras I currently own.
2 Nikon FE
1 Nikon FE2
2 Nikon FM
Mamiya 645
Mamiya six folder.

Most Nikons were purchased as investments , that is at price I thought I could resell at a profit!
Unfortunately this did not happen and I will probably sell at a loss.
Buying and selling cameras has financed my darkroom habit.
I will likely keep a Nikon FE2 and a Nikon FM.
Medium format is still an issue with portability paramount.

Buying and selling enlargers! well thats another problem!!

I sometimes think that being a black and white photographer is akin to owning a boat!
Owning a boat is said to be like throwing money into a hole in the water!
Black and white photography is like throwing money into a tray of print developer?
