You might need to have your red dot realigned! There must be a special Hasselblad jig for that.
 
the lens was cocked but the slot was not in line with the red dot! mia culpa;mia culpa; mia maxima culpa:smile:

That is a common mistake when one turns cocks the lens by hand. Very frustrating.
 
still like to find out how it's done exactly!

One has to slowly turn in until it clicks into place. Sometimes it does not lock in and has to but continued to be turned until it solidly clicks.

thanks; that seems indeed to be the case. Mine always flicked back to the starting position and I was too scared to force it.

Until I learned how to get it to lock into place, it took me several tries. Now I know how much force to use and to repeat when necessary. Once one has learned, it does not often become a problem again, however one should check it every time one one looks at it.
