Looks like I have to send it in.
Where will you send it? I used to use David Odess, so looking for a new tech person.
When they moved the operation from NJ to LA, they lost a ton of long time and well trained staff in regards to the V system. So I am waiting a bit longer to see what plays out with that as Steve's and Samy's are very much known quantities and I only go with known quantities.@Ai Print Why not the most natural place - Hasselblad USA? They're also near LA and Odess himself admitted to me that certain repairs can only be done by them.
On Facebook, a group “Learn Camera Repair” has a regular contributor “James Holman” who posts progress on some Hasselblad repairs. Based on his posts and style, I’d recommend getting a complete overhaul from him.
I wouldn't just have to pay for the CLA and two-way shipping but also for import duties and most-likely VAT again; ouch. No thanks. Luckily, I still have one working 501c body and lens
Why go outside of Germany, I heard that https://www.arluewa.de/cms/en/ is good...

Are the import duties and VAT on owned equipment that has been repaired? I would expect that on new or used equipment purchased. If so, fly out to Los Angeles, take it to Hasselblad and you can stay at my place while you wait for the repair.

I'm perplexed. I'm not new to this camera; this issue got me. The camera and its normal 80mmf/2.8 CF lens have been stored safely in a foam-packed aluminum case. I took it out yesterday and tried to mount the lens after cocking the camera first but the lens couldn't be mounted. It just fell out of the mount and luckily onto my bed. No way to establish a solid connection. Ever heard of that?
It seems like you've already seen this, but our comment is "The lens needs to be cocked so the timing is accurate. If he cocked the camera and not the lens, they won't sync up."
Not much more we can add without seeing it.

to finish up this thread, the issue is fixed. I'm afraid it was a typical Hasselblad issue that the lens was not cocked and the body was;both need to be cocked to attach the lens. I knew that but was unable to cock the lens off body. a super friendly customer assistant at a camera dealer in Cologne (Lambertin) did it for me and showed me how to do it myself in the future.Pretty nice considering that I didn't even buy the camera there, but they certainly won a new customer for the future, Thanks for all the valuable hints on Photrio too!
@RalphLambrecht The very first reply you got in this thread suggested to check whether the lens was cocked. Something was lost in translation here.
