I made my subscription to Emulsion magazine Wed, 09 Aug 2006 18:48:38 and I had this e-mail from the Emulsion Magazine Subscription Departement:

"Greetings Juan Carlos ,

Thank you for your recent subscription to Emulsion Magazine. You will be notified by email when your subscription request has been processed.

Thank You,

Emulsion Magazine Subscriptions"

But nothing happens until now.

So sad.

Well seeing your date of subscription I had a sneaking suspicion it went on the ozone list. Checking that list where we just have a name, and a partial (if it is another country), phone number, you are on it if your last name is Toriz. With no email address or snail mail address and no full phone number I had no way of contacting you. Your payment was never processed, if you check your records. That link at the time did not work. It has been announced here before about that problem, and when it was fixed to be usuable again. It is fine now if you want to re submit your subscription. As it stands now there was no money actually paid, and no address to send it to.

If there are anymore people who did not receive their copies, please let me know so that I can take care of it. If I don't know, I can't do a thing about it.

Dave,

Is it difficult for you guys to send Aggie a Private Message to see if she can explain what might have happened or what might be going on?

It is pretty simple, click on Aggies name and a drop down menu with magically appear with several different options, just scroll down to "Send Aggie a Private Message" click on it, put a Title in the little box above the big box and then let here know what is going on, in the big box, hit the send button, and as if by magic, I bet within a few hours you will have an answer from......Aggie letting you know if there has been a problem..

Pretty simple course of events it seems to me.

Dave

Do you have a problem ignoring threads? Are we bothering you? I'm so sorry. </sarcasm>

Of course I did PM Aggie, and sure enough, after a few PMs more, the problem was solved. But, since I had mentioned here that there was a problem, I thought it would only be fair to also mention that it has been solved. I mean, I would not want people to think "Hey, this Emulsion magazine, I'm not going to subscribe, because it's only trouble". So, yes, I PM'd Aggie, but I also want to let people know that she really does solve problems (fast!), and that there is no reason not to subscribe to Emulsion Magazine.

Sorry if in your opinion I'm just wasting valuable bits.

Well Kraker,

Why do you have a problem with me posting the information in case people don't know?

I didn't say anyone one was wasting my time at all, if you don't like what I have to say, guess what their is an ignore user button also :D

I could really care less if your mad, as indicated by your little smiley face..

Seems like some of the people around the net are more than willing to post in public that there has been a problem before they contact the source that can really tell them what is going on..

Good bye.

You're right, I stand corrected. No problem with that. I Guess I misinterpretated your reply, then.

Remember, even if it looks mad, it's still a smiley.

Well, yes, there are some of those people, but it was never my intention to be one of them. It was merely my first attempt at drawing Aggies attention, yes, before I thought of PM-ing her. So, your advice was too late for me, but may be in time for others.

So, no need to say goodbye!

I have no control of the mails. Many have complained they didn't receive their issues, only to have them show up later, due to some glitch in the mail services. One person got the three seperate issues I sent over a months period of time in just two days. I had one person PM me today telling me his copy finally got to him, that was from the first of Oct. I was just getting ready to do a run to the post office with his second copy. All I can say is since you are in Mexico, it might take a while to get to you even though I sent it first class. You will get your first issue. I would just be patient and wait a little more time. If it doesn't show up in another 10 days, I will mail you a second copy. So far there is only one issue mailed out that was returned to me. It was to a man in the Netherlands. It had been in the mail for 2 months before it made its way back here.

Hey, that would be me. To stay with the subject of the thread: Got my issue of Emulsion yesterday! :D I PMd you just in time then? No second copy on its way?

Had a look through the magazine yesterday, it's very nice! Postal services somewhere between the US and the Netherlands could improve, but Aggies magazine is fine as it is!

Being in the traveling portfolio, it was comical the thread where we were waiting for the drunken burro to make it from England to Mexico. Once it left Mexico we figured the drunken burro had once again been refreshed with more cervesa, so it was even slower (over 4 weeks) to make it from Mexico to California. I will make sure you get the magazine Juanito. Thank you for your patience. Oh the drunken burro in this instance was what we ended up calling the mail system

I subscribed back in August. Received e-mail Aug. 9th stating confirmation would be sent, but never heard back. Any suggestions? I thought there was just a delay, but perhaps my sub. was never received. . . .

Jeff,

Send Aggie a Private message, sounds like you were in the same time frame when there was some difficulties with the subscription system, send her a note and she can let you know what is going on.

Also Jeff, without a full name to put to a subscription I have no idea who you are. PM me with your details like a full name and I can check it for you. Dave is right you fall into that ozone period that we have talked about quite a bit.

We are almost ready to mail out the second issue, which will be this coming week.

Issue #2

Just received issue #2 and looks great. I'm definitely envious over Clay's alt process darkroom (have to console myself knowing that Paul Strand didn't have a dedicated darkroom till age 65). The other alternative process articles look very helpful. Well done!
