I just put an ad out for a 645 kit, but I'm also really wanting a Fuij GX680 III kit.

I really want to try my hand at tilt/shift, but don't want to deal with the price of 4x5, the upside down image, or loading/unloading 4x5 film.

Also, the GX680 just piqued my curiosity since I first saw it 3/4 years ago.

I only want the 680 III and not the IIIs.

I would like:

  • Camera Body
  • Prism
  • (2) 120 Backs
  • Open to different lenses or no lens in this package
  • Please be sure it's a very minty edition
I'm in the Kingston area of New York state, so I imagine we'll be shipping to me. I have a history on Fred Miranda to help make up for my lack of history here.

My budget depends on the kit.

I'm not selling mine, but couldn't resist coming in to confirm that it's a wonderful camera. Good luck with the purchase!

I have the kit you need and some extras , like the ultra rare 6x6, 6x7, and I think the 6x4.5 masks.
I’ve been thinking of selling it for some time. It is a wonderful system, but then think I’d regret it.

There is one for sale at Monument Camera in Tucson AZ. Not sure if it's the model you want, but it's worth a call.

great tip! i'll give them a call. in all honesty, the tuscon area is where i want to use it first. so that's a nice coincidence if it works out and maybe i'll find an excuse to pick it up in person!

I have the III and agree that it's worth the extra effort over the I and II, not only because they're newer but also because of the battery convenience. Would love to have the masks, but in practice I do love those enormous 6x8 negatives...

Roberts Camera is selling one, but you have to buy it through their ebay store (and they want real money for it):

Fuji GX680III

i saw that one. i always prefer to buy from photo communities (private sellers) rather than dealers. so i'm just being patient. the edition they're selling looks like it's in good condition, just not a rare beauty that shows hardly any use. and i'm not in any real rush yet, so i'm hoping for either a kit with some extras and/or something that shows hardly any use.

Great. Are you also checking the Large Format Photography Forum? They've had several GX680 listings over the past year or two. A GX680 (not the III) sold just 2 months ago.

Do you ever head up to Toronto? A buddy of mine is selling off a lot of gear including Fuji GX680 - many bodies, lenses, accessories, digital backs and adapters too.

This is from a long time ago, but these are his employees shooting with one of his kits in Toronto - CaptureTek crew do Fuji GX680 handheld street photography

You can have view camera for far less Fuji will cost, let alone any LF lens acquired, free to move to another camera.

I bought a Nikon from a local guy who is also selling his GX680, which he modified to use lithium batteries. I can hook you up if you like.

true, but i don't want an upside down image (i know reflex viewers are available for some models). i don't want the cost of 4x5 film as i'm learning tilt and shift. and i don't want to deal with loading 4x5 film too. plus the 680 just has some appeal!

There is a Cambo 6x9 view camera for sale here. I would consider that since tilt and shift is nice bit full movements on a camera are much better. The price is very reasonable and you could put roll film backs on it. Looking through a view camera with the world upside down is no big deal and you get used to it very quickly.

Hi Christopherjs

The 680 is a really amazing camera. I have two of the first model. I made a simple battery adapter on my 3D printer that allows me to use cheap and easy to find (on Amazon) rechargeable batteries. My point here is - if you can find a Model III at a good price, go for it! If you can't I wouldn't worry too much about getting a model I or a II. you might save some $$$$ you can spend on film. For me and my needs the I works fine. Your mileage may differ.

Best,

Paul
