The second bottle of PQ is showing a little bit of pink also. I just put a little into a beaker and really looked at it. I thought this stuff lasted a good while? Something isn't right.

I just finished cleaning up. Negatives are hanging to dry and they look very much neutral!! Best to wait until they dry and view them under daylight to make sure. They do look a lot better. There is a little bit of sparkle to these that the other three rolls didn't have when using the dichromate.

Exposures look to be spot-on. Shadows have nice detail in them. Box speed still seems to be the winner here.

I didn't mix a part A and B this time around seeing that I wanted to try this one time to see if things would be more neutral or not and if there would be any negative effects, no pun intended, like from what I read about permanganate from other's experiences.

For a 600ml working solution I started with 500ml of distilled water and then added 1.2 grams of permanganate and 26.57 grams of sodium bisulfate, adding the latter slowly with stirring. 26.52 grams would be more correct, math-wise, but close enough. Can't let my OCD win. I bleached for 5:00 at 68.7F/20.3C. No emulsion damage.

I also noticed that the film looked much brighter/whiter under the bulb when doing the re-exposure. Last time the roll was clear but it had an orange tint to it. I don't know what was going on there but if this is on account of the dichromate then I am getting the idea that films might require extra flush out time or something because of hesitancy of left over dichromate leaving the film. Stubborn staining comes to mind.

I thought dichromate powder was eye-catching but so was the permanganate. I like the effect when it hits water. Beautiful purple. The stuff does stain a little but isn't too bad. Metabisulfite helps.

I will have something to show soon.

Could be chromium compounds that may have formed during bleaching. It's a mystery why they were not removed by the clearing bath and extended fixing.
